"A couple of years ago I left an average review for Robert Earl's. In a rare occurrence I actually had the owner reach out to me and offer a free meal upon my return, which instantly made me a fan because it says how important a customer centric experience is to his business.
I felt bad that I live in Sacramento and hadn't had a chance to return to Robert Earl's in a significant amount of time but I was committed to returning based upon the owners desire to satisfy a customer.
In full transparency, I didn't accept the free meal offered by the owner (I sincerely appreciated the jesture) as I didn't want it to in any way impact my review. I'm happy I returned, it wasn't only good it was EXCELLENT!! The ribs and the rib-tips were cooked to perfection, VERY tender and favorable. The sauce is sweet with a hint of heat which is excellent as it doesn't overpower the flavor of the meat. The Greens were tender, the bake beans were good and didn't taste like they had soaked in the restaurants BBQ sauce. But the real star is, as it should be, the BBQ!! Everything else after that is a bonus!!
I HIGHLY recommend Robert Earl's, and will ALWAYS make an effort to eat there whenever I'm in Southern, Ca.

"First time ordering from Meme's BBQ. Affordable, especially comared to other bbq spots. Been looking for a good bbq spot since my favorite permanently closed. This is my new favorite. The Pitmaster Combo is a lot of food. All the meats are nicely seasoned, smokey and tender. The bbq sauce is on point. Just wish they didn't forget my EXTRA BBQ SAUCE. The Mac and Cheese is a creamy style. Not terrible, just not my preference. The coleslaw is slightly sweet, didn't mind it. The meats are really what it's all about. "

The portions are great. I couldn't wait to take a bite. The brisket was too firm. The had brisket from everywhere and this was not good. A good brisket feeds without breaking and melts in your mouth. This was a tough over cooked thick cut of meat.
Similar review on the ribs. These pork ribs felt more like beef ribs. They were tough and had to enjoy. Good pork ribs should fall off the bone and easy to eat, this was not that.

"I enjoyed the full rack of Baby back ribs with a side of garlic mashed potatoes & macaroni & cheese. Delicious! Always tasty fall off the bone ribs, flavorful garlic mashed potatoes. The fresh baked biscuits with the apple butter never disappoints. I've been enjoying Lucille's Smoke House Long Beach,CA since they opened in 1999 not much has changed, except added menu entrees and the prices to keep up with times. Still very reasonable for the quality & quantity you get. A true family bargain!"
"I had ordered a meal for 2 and it gave me a good portion of burnt pork belly ends but a small piece of ribs for 1 person. I ordered a side a Mac and cheese for 2 and they gave a small portion for 1 person. I ordered fries that could be shared and it's decent. They gave me 2 salads when I ordered one. A ton of chips with little bit of cheese sauce. I would not recommend ordering here at all. Bad service because we had to wait extra time for our order and overall just not a pleasant meal."

"Incredibly mid bbq. As a born and raised Texan, I've been on a mission to find a bbq joint near me that meets my standards since moving to Cali. Sad to say that my search continues. Their baby back ribs barely have any meat on them, and what is there is very tough. The brisket is kind of dry and they didn't put nearly enough sauce on either of the meats for my preference. Mac and cheese is one of my all time favorite foods and theirs is undersalted and has CORN in it, which feels like a crime against flavor ): they get 2/5 stars because the cornbread muffins are perfection and the potato salad has thinly sliced onions that really kick the flavor of the dish up a notch. Overall the food was incredibly overpriced for the lack of flavor delivered.
They are also very obviously using ai chat bots to reply to all their reviews and that just screams lazy customer service to me. 10th street bbq so far has the best bbq in Long beach but just make sure to double and triple check your orders"
