THE SANDWICH SPOT: 1258 South Bascom San Jose
2-23-24: I’ve been trying different sandwich shops (Mr Pickles, and Erik’s Deli), today I will try THE SANDWICH SPOT. I’ve placed many orders with Mr Pickles {over 20 times since 1-17-24}, and once with Erik’s Deli. All three of these locations are close proximity to each other and I’ve written reviews for both Mr Pickles and Erik’s Deli and posted on Door Dash. All three shops have similar items and some differences. The most recent establishment I tried and left a review for was Erik’s Deli Cafe on 2-20-24
This is my first time ordering from The Sandwich spot.Today I ordered #16 The Shark Tank {Hot Turkey, avocado, bacon, bomb sauce,and cream cheese} on Swirl Rye with Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, Mustard, Onions. In addition to the sandwich I ordered the Potato Salad, and a bag of chips. Unlike Mr Pickles or Erik’s Deli, there isn’t any discount offered for their sandwich order. My first time ordering from The Sandwich Spot and total for my order was $ 31.00 which is slightly higher than the other two places for the same amount of items. Mr Pickles has a similar sandwich called the Julie Bird ($16.59) which I’ve tried and is really good it was my first time ordering from them on 1-17-24 and I was happy with them and have ordered over 20 times already. Erik’s Deli cafe similar sandwich The Pilgrim ($20.18).
#16 Shark Tank: Let me start by saying cream cheese on a sandwich is so good :) . Not a lot of meat on the sandwich, almost more filler ingredients than the meat : ( Rye bread taste good and is soft and fresh but I’m not ordering the bread alone. Sandwich was wrapped beautifully nicely done and wrapped with foil and paper.
Potato Salad (1 Pint): Larger size than Mr Pickles potato salad and price comparison is a much better deal for not much more money ($4.49 vs $3.49) you get a 1/2 pint more for $1.00 more when ordering from The Sandwich Spot : ).Looking at the packaging it doesn’t appear to be larger, appears to be same size.Nice flavors and nice pieces of potato.Erik’s Deli Cafe sells theirs for $6.99 for a Regular and $8.49 for a Large. The regular at Erik’s Deli Cafe is smaller than the Potato Salad at Mr Pickles. Prepared previously with an expire date label 2/27.
Over all review of The Sandwich spot is that the sandwiches are good and made pretty well, potato salad is a GREAT DEAL, the price is a little bit higher than Mr Pickles for ordering same/similar order, and definitely better value and price comparison than Erik’s Deli Cafe. I will try several more orders as they have a pretty good size menu

The sandwhich was okay-
The meat is very limited. The avacado was already turning brown.
Im sure I ordered jalapeño chips & I was handed an OLD bag of broken Doritos that expire in a month.
pretty bummed for a 25-26 dollar order :/

Definitely 5/5 stars in regards to the service and menu!
