Food is good. Mac n 8oz. Mac & Cheese a little on the high side for so little. But it was tasty and I will order again. Rib & Chicken meat was tender and not over sauced. Delicious.

I was very disappointed with my first experience. The meats were dry and had very little sauce—I actually had to add Kinder’s BBQ sauce when I got home. The mac and cheese and yams were both lacking flavor, and the yams didn’t even have the syrup or juice that usually comes with them. My wheat bread was also missing from the order. Very small portion for the price. There were 4 slices of beef, and 2 ribs with 2 knuckles???. Overall, the meal did not meet my expectations, especially for a first visit. I hope this was just an off day.

The fried chicken is seasoned perfectly and is delicious. The pulled pork sandwich is also tasty. The french fries are crispy and salted well. Also, I've gone in to pick up food and the service is top-notch. Overall, this is a great place and I would recommend it.

After long anticipating a visit, I finally tried Roderick’s BBQ via a DoorDash pickup order.
While the physical location is small and best suited for takeout, the service was friendly and the timing was spot on.
The Food Breakdown
The meal was high-quality, though a bit pricey at $66 for two plates.
The Meats: The ribs were tender, well-seasoned, and fell off the bone. The links were unique and far superior to store-bought options.
Note: Orders come pre-sauced, which may not appeal to BBQ purists who prefer sauce on the side.
The Sides:
Mac & Cheese: A standout with a subtle, delicious hint of garlic.
Yams: Perfectly sweetened without being overpowered by spice.
Potato Salad: Features a unique texture and cut; it’s good, but might not be for everyone.
Baked Beans: Solid, standard fare.
Verdict
Roderick’s serves up great BBQ that justifies a return trip. Next time, I’m looking forward to trying the fried catfish.
