"This was my first visit to Chick-fil-a for a dinner meal. I ordered the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich w/ Spicy Filet Meal reluctantly. I'm not a fan of Spicy food, however, it just sounded so great I decided to try it. "Spicy" is a relative description but, in this case it happened to be right on. I found it to be too spicy for my taste. The BBQ sauce is very nice. The brown sugar and pepper bacon tasted just like bacon that was undercooked with absolutely no sweetness to it. The Chicken was a really nice size breast. It was fried to a very nice crispiness and was very tender. I ordered a Chocolate Milkshake as well. That was the most vanilla Chocolate Milkshake I have ever had. Either I received a vanilla milkshake by mistake or there is barely any chocolate in their milkshakes. "I was very disappointed in the $8 bowl of iceberg lettuce that is on the menu as having the same amount of tuna as a footlong sub. I had 8 pieces of spinach, 4 slices of tomato, 6 cucumber slices, and enough tuna for a 6 inch sub, at best. Seriously, it was 85% shredded iceberg lettuce. This may not be an isolated issue with this store and is perhaps the way all stores make the tuna bowl. It was delicious until I had nothing left but iceberg lettuce. The sandwich was excessively spicy and inedible, and the fries consisted of a small portion with only a minimal amount of cheese and no meat included. As a result, I was unable to eat either item.

I’m a New York native, so I’ve had plenty of experiences eating phenomenal oxtails over the years. These were easily some of the best I’ve ever had. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
My only small qualm was the mac and cheese. It had a bit too much MSG for my taste. I’m sensitive to MSG, so the flavor came through pretty strong for me. I ended up pairing it with the yams to balance it out and that actually worked really well.
Now the cornbread deserves its own moment. It was delicious and honestly reminded me of my mother’s cornbread. I was literally sitting in my bed eating it before I fell asleep lol.
I also want to say thank you for bringing authentic soul food to this area. I live in Alamance County and there is truly no soul food to be found here. There’s plenty of southern style food, but real soul food is almost nonexistent.
