I’m a New York native, so I’ve had plenty of experiences eating phenomenal oxtails over the years. These were easily some of the best I’ve ever had. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
My only small qualm was the mac and cheese. It had a bit too much MSG for my taste. I’m sensitive to MSG, so the flavor came through pretty strong for me. I ended up pairing it with the yams to balance it out and that actually worked really well.
Now the cornbread deserves its own moment. It was delicious and honestly reminded me of my mother’s cornbread. I was literally sitting in my bed eating it before I fell asleep lol.
I also want to say thank you for bringing authentic soul food to this area. I live in Alamance County and there is truly no soul food to be found here. There’s plenty of southern style food, but real soul food is almost nonexistent.

"Down home southern comfort food! Tastes great good portions... wish they had fried bologna w/fried egg sandwich too lol but I'm not complaining I'm enjoying the Texan burger bite by flavorful bite! Chicken salad for tomarrow looks tummy & these Meaty beans are off the hook! Spice carrot cake is just like my memaws!!! Try it you'll be thinking ITS ALL GOOD TOO HONEY!!! PS you can also tell their Strawberry Lemonade is simply delicious due to the 1/2 missing amount in pics!!!"
"I am new to this area and decided to try this place out due to the great reviews and OMG! I got the Mama's Meat Loaf everything is full of flavor and cooked perfectly, fresh and perfect portions, and it even comes with a free side of cornbread. For my two sides I got the potato salad(potatoes cooked perfectly) and the collard greens. the cornbread has like a honey butter on it, so delicious . I'll definitely be ordering from here again trying a different dish."
