"As usual, the Single B&G + Bacon + MD Coffee is one of the best bargains in town. And this place opens earlier except any place but McDonald’s or Starbucks. So if you are an early riser and wake up craving biscuits and gravy, plus really good bacon and coffee, this is the place to go. Just make sure you choose the South Commercial location of Daynight Donuts, because the b&g at the other location, as I mentioned in a previous review, are not so good.

"Tavern Patty Melt is really good. A thick hamburger patty (I ordered mine well done) topped by grilled onions and Swiss cheesse on toasted marble rye bread. I'm not sure what the special sauce is on this sandwich, but it's zippier than the usual 1000 Island dressing.
The only thing I might change about this sandwich is cutting it in two, because it is large.

A case in point: the Portland Dip Sandwich. I'm kind of a connoisseur when it comes to turkey sandwiches, and the Portland Dip is that rare bird, a hot turkey sandwich that isn't smothered in mashed potatoes and gravy. But $20.00? For just a sandwich? When you can get a complete at a decent restaurant for the same price?
To add insult to injury, they make you choose a side, then charge an upsell for every side except fries. I don't happen to like fries, so I'm faced with either a) paying the upsell; b) ordering the fries and then throwing them away, or c) choosing "no side" but paying the full price. Neither option is acceptable to me.
Especially when you consider that, after adding in the driver tip and service fees, I'll be paying over $25.00 for just a sandwich.
That's too much. Your sandwiches may be good, McMenamin's, but not $25.00 good."

Pros: This was definitely made from scratch using ingredients that would come out of a typical kitchen.
Cons: Not very tasty. The Breakfast Sandwich was dry and the egg was overcooked. The sausage in the Biscuits and Gravy was hard (overcooked maybe ?). The portion was small. I get twice this amount of biscuits and gravy at Bardos in Salem and it is much better.
Summary: I tried this place because I saw there were good reviews and it was discounted. The food was edible, but not necessarily enjoyable. In the future, I'll stick to McDs for something better or Bardos for the best in Salem."

I asked for it to be made super thick and they did just that! It was sooooooooo delicious! I only wish there were some chunks of Oreo instead of dusted/blended cookies. The shake also came with a very thick straw which made it easy to enjoy it!
I rate this place 3.5 stars. I would get the burger again and the milkshake, but after reading how horribly this place treats their customers, I'm apprehensive about visiting this joint in person. I don't know. I'll have to sleep on it."
