"I don't know much about curry but this was great. A bit hot for me, but not for my son.! I mistook a dessert as a main course ( labels please) but it was fine with the rice. We were going to have a picnic on my bed. I got lamb biryani. The outside wrapping paper is beautiful but the seal on the bottom opened up & Tons of saffron rice biryani fell all over my bed! They do not say this side up-Open on the bottom! If only. It was still warmish hot. It was a huge amount of rice. More than 2 slender adults could eat at once. I woke up today wanting to eat some more this morning. Im not really a rice person, but this was flavoured so well. The biryani did not look like the photo and I didn't know what went with it as not indicated. The other dishes weren't labelled either. I don't know if we had everything if not. I hope so as it was expensive and more to the point, I wanted to try everything.
I can only assume everything was fresh as a lot of spice and sauce can cover up the basic lamb flavour. These all worked well together. I did not know what the white sauce was but it was a bit like thinned yogurt. Too bad they didn't include a container those coloured seeds- fennel or caraway?to have afterwards-like fortune cookies are added to Chinese orders. It woukd be a nice touch. I got lamb curry but no vegetables! and a huge, salted, flour frisbee round of flat bread that gets hard as it cools. It was fun! It was very messy for us, so have a roll of paper towels there or a stack of napkins-lots of ironing later lol
The very best? the Mango Lassi! Gorgeous jewel orange ! I could have drunk so many more. It is perfect if the food is too hot! Perfect anyway! I don't know what percentage fat is in the thick yogurt but who cares when it's that good! Everything was very well wrapped. The lassi was sideways and not a drop spilled. There were huge straws but no opening in the lids which are flat bottomed bowls.
Not sure what you do with the bowl.
Sure,a ton of plastic wrap and aluminum foil is used. I hope it's recyclable.
We really enjoyed these courses. I have only had curry with vegetables in a meat curry-they were awol-not great for me. I didn't recognize most of the dishes compared to the photos, so I can't indicate a thumb direction. Labels needed. We enjoyed it all and are going to have some watching Nor vs Por lol Cheers!
NB:At least it wasn't a Tim's delivery with the tray dripping wet. Door Dash does not like making refunds no matter if it's groceries (esp) or food. They red flag you &/or say they will get back to you after consideration! Into the ether and no refunds! Despite photos etc."
"Mango lassi was 10/10. Not too sweet, tasted like if a mishti doi was made into a lassi. SO GOOD. The biryani was filled to the brim, and so well priced! Super aromatic and GENEROUSLY spiced, it reminded me of home! "

The grilled chicken is juicy, well-seasoned, and perfectly charred, served over a bed of fragrant and flavorful rice. Portions are huge—a single order easily feeds two—and prices are remarkably reasonable.
The dukka adds a tangy, fragrant depth to the meal, while the crisp baklava makes a great sweet finish. Plus, the entire menu is 100% Halal.

"Food was tasty. Salad nice and fresh. Love the lentil soup. Great to be able to get healthy food late night and they allow instructions when ordering too. Only complaint is not enough foil was used to warp the naans which means they lost some of the heat because they they were exposed and couldn't be fully closed. Other than this, good job. Thanks Kabul Express!"
"The Chicken Wings (12) taste good. Wings have dry spices on it, kinda like Louisiana rub (not in taste but texture). It can be a little Charred.
Garlic Naan is different but tastes good. This one is a thick bread with lot of garlic stuffed in it so it's not like your regular naan bread which is less doughy and slightly crunchy. "

"Just blown away by how good the beef Beef Tehari was! exceeded expectations. just one feedback: perhaps they can cut back down a bit on the amount of whole peppercorns in the dish. otherwise, just perfect. huge quantity and was very filling."
"I had a very disappointing experience with the Mutton Kacchi Biryani. The rice was dry and lacked flavor, while the mutton was tough, chewy, and seemed undercooked. There was barely any aroma of authentic spices, and the portion size didn't justify the price. The food tasted stale, as if it had been reheated. "always the best choice and my favorite restaurant with consistent taste 💖❤️"
"Their mandi used to be delicious, with generous portions and great quality. Unfortunately, I noticed a significant decline during my recent visit.
The portion of chicken has been substantially reduced, as you can see from the photos. The pictures were taken immediately after the food was served, so nothing had been eaten beforehand. The chicken itself was quite hard, and the seasoning appeared to be sitting on the surface rather than being well absorbed into the meat, which affected the overall flavour.
Overall, both the quality and quantity have decreased, making the meal feel much less worthwhile for the price. I hope they return to the standards they were known for."

"I have now ordered the lamb biryani twice in the last week. The first time was because I had a late night craving. The second was because I liked it so much the first time.
It is a generous portion for two (unless, like me, you hate to share treasures like lamb biryani). The lamb is very tender. Mix it up before you eat it because then you get all the flavour - tasty, not greasy.
This one comes with a boiled egg too, and at medium spicy it was the perfect level of spice for someone who has grown up with spicy food. If you are not used to spice, order mild because you can always add hot sauce."
"Horrible, lamb kadai was almost indigestible and the curry to roti ratio was more disproportionate than anything. As for the potato curry, although it was edible, I would not even feed it to my worst enemy. Not authentic Indian at all."

"Kalyug is one of my favorite restaurants in Canada. The food always reminds me of home, and honestly, I haven’t found a better taste anywhere else. The quality, flavor, and authenticity are outstanding. For me, Kalyug deserves a full 5-star rating.
I would just like to suggest a couple of small improvements. First, my order did not include disposable cutlery. It would be helpful if cutlery were included with takeout and delivery orders. Even if there is a small extra charge for it, I would not mind paying.
Second, the spicy sauce and the pickled onions (vinegar-marinated onions) were provided in very small quantities. These sides add a lot to the overall meal experience, and it would be great if a little more could be included, especially for regular customers.
Other than these minor suggestions, everything was excellent. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are satisfying, and the taste truly feels like home. I can honestly say that I haven’t had better Indian food anywhere else in Canada. Kalyug has earned my 5-star rating, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, home-style food"
"Overall the value for money was not there. Noodles were good, a quality item. Spring rolls felt like they were cheap frozen, just heated up and served. Green chutney while acceptable was simply too much in terms of quantity.
It seems as though the restaurant has its priorities set on wrong things."

"I was disappointed with the desserts and chaat. The rabri falooda was icy rather than creamy, lacking the rich texture you’d expect. Both the dahi bhalla and café chatpati used the exact same yogurt base, which was bland and far from delicious. Overall, the flavors fell flat."

"I was recommended to order from this restaurant, I ordered Baingan Bhartha, rice and the Garlic Naan and all really tasty, it comes a good amount of food (not the naan though) that probably will be enough for two. The only thing is the naan that I feel it's a little pricey for the amount but all delicious no doubt!"
"Highly impressed with their new packaging . It gives such a premium feel and keeps the food warn while opening up the bag. The Dum-Pukht Biryani along with daal makhani was a perfect match. The cutlery quality was great too. What an amazing experience! Actually felt like I was dinning in bombay, Hats off! Keep up the great experience. "

"Almost always, very good quantity and fingerlickin' delicious - absolute value for money!
Beef fry is my favourite. And bucket biriyani but today, i tried both Maharaja/rani biriyanis and i am blown away! If I am not mistaken, raja is chilli chicken and rani, manchurian or ginger/garlic chicken, with sumptuous pieces of chicken, and biriyani rice for both is the special ghee variant (sinfully delicious), and both comes with salad, pickle and pappadam, no egg. Bucket biriyani comes with egg, 4 pieces of tandoori wings, the regular but equally yummylicious non-ghee variant rice, pappadam, salad and pickle. Bucket in mini-tumblers and all others in regular boxes.
Overall, the best for Kerala cuisine! This team knows good food for valuable price!"
"Honesty the chicken biryani was freshly cooked, not dry, lots of flavorful chicken pieces and the tandori chicken was equally impressive!! My first time ordering and I am still going back to my kitchen adding more helpings on my plate!!! Super delicious, great chef :)"
