I came to visit Oakland for a work trip, and during my stay I found myself coming back to Shooting Star Cafe well over four times in a two day period. Combination Meat Chow Mein / 雜錦炒麵was ok nothing special and almost lacked that wholesome flavor for authentic chinese food. Fried Prawns / 炸蝦was cooked perfectly and tasted great! "The walnut chicken is the best thing to ever happen to me and my girlfriend. We cannot get enough of it, we had to set a rule to only order from here on certain pay days cus it's just too good. We had some left over and during my whole shift at work, I just kept imagining that walnut chicken to push me through.
Their chow mein and fried rice are fresh and extremely tasty as well! The fried rice was not too dry, just perfectly right. The veggies in both of these dishes are perfectly balanced with the rest of the meal!"

Sichuan Fusion consistently has great food. I have tried many of their items but the two I always come back to are the Chongqing style chili chicken (boneless) and the Chicken wings withsalted egg yoke. Both have amazing flavor. The Chongqing style chili chicken is just spicy enough, but not too spicy to not be appetizing when you're not in the mood for spicy. I order from Sichuan fusion an embarrassing amount and can honestly say Ihave never had a bad meal :)"

"Was very excited to try this place. I'll start with some praise: the beef is incredibly tender and flavorful. The garlic cucumber was a tad sweet but still very nice.
Now for the bad: the noodles are (at least delivered) only so-so. Almost feels like an Italian dried pasta. Worse, this was meant to be spicy - so I was expecting a fair bit of oil and chili, but it really was quite flavorless apart from the beef. I added a healthy dose of chili crisp to bring it to life, but for the quite expensive price point I was expecting more.
Decent portion size, but again - you're paying quite a bit for it. Probably won't order again, but might stop by the restaurant to see if it cooks up better fresh than delivered."

The Cilantro Beef therefore compared as "best". And not spiced. What can go wrong with some fresh cilantro? "The meat over cooked and was dry, the rice was under cooked and hard, and none of it had any flavor.
Also, they claim they’re giving you two orders for the price of one, on this DoorDash deal, but all they actually did was take one normal size order and split it into two containers.
And then the top it all off, I asked for utensils, one soy sauce, and one chili sauce, and they did not provide any of that. Since I had them delivered this food to me at work, and I’m not at home, I don’t have any of my own utensils to eat my food. So I had a lovely inconvenience of having to drive to 7-Eleven to obtain a spoon.
Based on this order and their lack of customer service/attention to detail, I will never order from here again.
