I came to visit Oakland for a work trip, and during my stay I found myself coming back to Shooting Star Cafe well over four times in a two day period. Each time I got something different, and every item was delicious, refreshing, and made me want to keep coming back. Shredded Pork Pan Fried Noodle / 肉絲煎麵arrived with pan noodles on separate container. Shredded pork could also be great as a soup dish! Combination Meat Chow Mein / 雜錦炒麵was ok nothing special and almost lacked that wholesome flavor for authentic chinese food. Fried Prawns / 炸蝦was cooked perfectly and tasted great! Popcorn Chicken / 鹽酥雞 was seasoned well! Beef Chow Fun / 乾炒牛河 was surprisingly very good with good flavors. Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings / 椒鹽雞中翼 were ok and our least favorite, very oily and arrived soggy. "

I have tried many of their items but the two I always come back to are the Chongqing style chili chicken (boneless) and the Chicken wings withsalted egg yoke. Both have amazing flavor. The Chongqing style chili chicken is just spicy enough, but not too spicy to not be appetizing when you're not in the mood for spicy. I order from Sichuan fusion an embarrassing amount and can honestly say Ihave never had a bad meal :)"

"The meat over cooked and was dry, the rice was under cooked and hard, and none of it had any flavor.
Also, they claim they’re giving you two orders for the price of one, on this DoorDash deal, but all they actually did was take one normal size order and split it into two containers.
And then the top it all off, I asked for utensils, one soy sauce, and one chili sauce, and they did not provide any of that. Since I had them delivered this food to me at work, and I’m not at home, I don’t have any of my own utensils to eat my food. So I had a lovely inconvenience of having to drive to 7-Eleven to obtain a spoon.
Based on this order and their lack of customer service/attention to detail, I will never order from here again.

"The Pork Intestines 卤大肠 are always such a hit—even with my kid. Can eat them over hot rice but honestly no one waits for the rice to get made most of the time. They just get gobbled up as soon as they get here."

The Cilantro Beef therefore compared as "best". And not spiced. What can go wrong with some fresh cilantro? All told, SO bad I'm not going to try them again. Over $20. Couldn't make myself bother eating it all. And I missed out on having a real meal"
