"I had a glutinous order to satiate my craving for sweets, cinnamon rolls, THEIR Cronuts/maple and bacon, and I wanted to try the lemon. I threw a couple in for my kid as well but he's a fan of the basics. They were unfortunately sold out of all of the items I selected, but fair play to them - there's a reason for it. They called me before the order came in letting me know (which was really nice), they let me know they threw in a couple extra of the items that were in stock (my kid's choices). To my surprise they refunded everything that was sold out, but still gave me the extra 2. I was bummed about not having a Cronut but their donuts are good and eating one made me realize I was out of my mind getting all of that.
Just to be clear for people wondering: Cronuts are amazing - I don't think there's a way to enjoy donuts without loving Cronuts. Their chocolate and Homer donuts are good, I'm partial to the chocolate over the Homer. Their maple bacon is bomb too. That's all I've tried. "I kept trying to give Panera the benefit of the doubt because I thought maybe it was just an off day, but this visit was honestly disappointing.
We ordered two soup and sandwich combos and the quality just kept getting worse with each item. My husband’s sandwich was basically two hard pieces of bread with what looked like a very thin layer of mashed meat inside—you couldn’t even see the meat unless you opened it up. His side baguette was rock hard.
The soup actually tasted good, but the portion was shockingly small for the price.
I got the half grilled cheese and it tasted like it was made with processed sliced cheese instead of actual grilled cheese quality ingredients.
What disappointed me most was the cookies. I was excited because in the past Panera cookies have always been soft and one of my favorite things there. This time every single cookie in the bag was hard and dry like a cracker.
Overall, the food quality felt really off compared to previous visits, especially for the cost. I left wishing I had asked for a refund."
