Despite immense competition in Mexican fare, including literally across the street from an unnamed far newer vendor, Paraiso is a neighborhood institution which always delivers no matter core Mexican fare or newer fare like breakfast (a recent trend among Hispanic places) or American stalwarts (beefsteaks, sandwiches, etc. sort of bodega-like). "See, THIS is a fantastic example of restaurants that get swept under the rug by bigger chains. I order fast food and other junk all the time (we all have our vices, eh?), but today, I was feeling pretty sick. And while there's nothing wrong with ordering familiar food, I thought, "hey, let's try something a little better for me, for once." Well worth branching out.
