"I was very disappointed in the $8 bowl of iceberg lettuce that is on the menu as having the same amount of tuna as a footlong sub. I had 8 pieces of spinach, 4 slices of tomato, 6 cucumber slices, and enough tuna for a 6 inch sub, at best. Seriously, it was 85% shredded iceberg lettuce. This may not be an isolated issue with this store and is perhaps the way all stores make the tuna bowl. It was delicious until I had nothing left but iceberg lettuce. If I ever order it again, I wont include any lettuce and maybe the $8 price tag will be more justified. On the plus side, all of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. "

Here’s what I ordered:
Shrimp Steak Hibachi Plate: it had literally 5 shrimps with the tail still on it and like 10-15 lil pieces of tough chewy steak. The rice was hard and tasted wierd. My play was full of think sliced onions, 3 pieces of broccoli, & zucchini. I asked them to hold the zucchini which they didn’t. I ultimately fed this to my dog, which one of them only ate the meat and not the rice!
Sub, Wing, Fries combo: comes with 3 chicken wings which the wing sauce (hot honey was the best part). I asked for blue cheese and ranch, which the blue cheese I didn’t get. The sub had lettuce which was wilted (another dog snack) and the fries were dry as ever with minimum fry seasoning! (I didn’t get a picture of this plate as I was already IRRITATED).

Anyways I say all this to say, DON’T waste your money like I did! The worst $40 dollars I’ve ever spent. "I have ordered from Hwy55 several times since moving to NC. I find myself ordering the same three things over and over. The quality products used to make each meal are superior to other places in this area.
Every meal, I order a milkshake or lemonade. This is the only place to order a real, delicious strawberry milkshake, with or without whipped cream on top.
Although the prices are a bit higher once you've eaten the food, you can easily justify the costs. Especially in the 2020-2024 economy. This is not considered a Con once you eat here.
If you are watching Every Dollar spent, then either skip Hwy55 or enjoy this place as a special treat.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nostalgia.

"I don't know why I didn't try them sooner. The Chili Cheese Tots were banging. absolutely amazing. chili was hot, cheese was hot, and they put it in separate containers to keep the tots crispy. 10/10 would order again. Kid's Burger was a large enough burger for my adult self! good with chili and coleslaw!"
