If you've eaten in, you know this place is a hole in the wall attached to a small grocery store. The Chole Bhatura was excellent, with flavorful chole that had a rich, well-balanced spice profile and tasted freshly prepared. "the restaurant was complaining on Twitter so we gave it a shot but the bun was not toasted, the chicken was not a patty (it was just little pieces) and there was potato in there as well. Too much masala on the sandwich also, and the masala itself has an odd flavor. He (the owner) has to understand this segment is very competitive around here and this is not a good product. At least toast a bun and put a full piece of chicken in if you are making a chicken sandwich, not little bites of chicken. These are the absolute basics."

"The Crab Curry was definitely the standout item for me, nicely spiced and with a very large portion of crab for the price. The Saag Paneer we had asked for spicy but it really wasn't spicy at all, though we still enjoyed it. I found the Murgh Sagwala to be too salty for my taste. I would have preferred it to be more spicy than salty, which I thought it would be from the description. The food was packaged very nicely in a paper bag and good containers, thank you for no styrofoam! Overall, I prefer spicier Indian food (guess I need to go to Devon for that) but I'd come back to order the crab curry again. If you prefer a more mild take on Indian food this place might be perfect for you though! "I have not done a review yet because I am new to this, and I wanted my first one to be one that I absolutely felt something about before writing a review. Udupi Palace mentions that some of its items are up to 70% less than in the area, something I found to be true only on one of my items the Mulligatawany Soup. This happens to be one of my favorite soups! I am used to looking in it and seeing a variety of ingredients in an appetizing mix with a beautiful aroma! This was a bowl of brown liquid soup with nothing noticeable in it other than broth and a few pieces of spice!
As I looked through most of the entrées, I was worried that so many of them were fried that they would not travel well. The masala dosa arrived lukewarm, and not much taste. I do not like leaving a negative review! Especially for my first one. However, I spent over a decade living blocks from Devon Avenue! Before I found the restaurant that I used to love, which moved, I spent five years or more trying many different Indian restaurants! Usually you end up with leftovers, the amount was slightly less than I am used to getting. In conclusion, I would not order from this restaurant again. I did not like sounding so harsh, but what good is a review if it is not completely honest!"
