"The Birria Fries were incredible. The fries stayed crispy under all the toppings, and the birria itself was tender and packed with flavor. "I ordered the Mexicali Burrito (smothered) and a cup of elote. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. The elote appeared overcooked or not fresh—the kernels were dull tan/brown in color and had an off taste, so I couldn’t finish it.
The chili on the burrito also missed the mark. It tasted more like a flour-based gravy than a proper green chili, with a noticeable flour flavor and an unrefined texture. Inside the burrito, the meat el pastor was actually good,
but the fries were overly greasy and soggy. The pico de gallo was unbalanced as well, lacking tomato and jalapeño and consisting mostly of cilantro and red onion, which didn’t pair well with the rest of the dish and the guacamole wasn't real.
Overall, the meal fell short in both quality and execution, and I won’t be returning."

"The Caldo De Pollo had a good amount of chicken & veggies but was pretty disappointing with the lack of flavor. it didnt come with jalapeños on the side like stated on the menu, which were necessary amongst other things needed to make it enjoyable. We put it on the stove and spruced it up with some seasoning, spice & lime we had on hand.
The tamale was bland as well but i luckily had some leftover green chile in the fridge to smother & make it better.

"I have been ordering from this place for three years. The food has never disappointed me. The Chimichanga Burrito is my favorite. It comes crispy, smothered in a white cheese sauce that is absolutely one of the best queso I have had. I prefer the chicken on this dish it is shredded tender and with just a light hint of peppers added. Besides the main dish being great, the bean and rice are fabulous. The carna asada tacos are my second go to the steak is so juice and cooked perfect the size is filling."

"Every single time I order from here it is top notch! I absolutely love going in person as well, Olga is incredibly wonderful and friendly as are the other staff members. My wife and I either come in person or order to the house once every couple of weeks and it's always the same thing every time because it's completely unbeatable! The portions of food are huge. "We have been ordering from El Compita since 2020 when we moved up north. Their food has not changed like so many other restaurants. It's just as good and always hot. Meat lacking a little salt, but thats fine. Im glad it wasnt covered in pico or queso sauce lmao. "Colorado" burro is pretty much the same as a California burro. It was good but it was EXTREMELY FLAT, barely anything inside. Cripy tacos were good/standard. Horchata good/standard. Just needed MORE SALSA! Haha. Will order again when I'm missing home. "
