"The beef was tough, gristly and tasteless. Seems more boiled than grilled as did the shrimp which was sparse, tasted frozen and was tough. The "cole slaw" was just undressed shredded cabbage and the fried rice was just greasy rice with what could have been a tiny bit of egg included. The "Yum" sauce was not well packaged and had almost completely leaked out by the time it was delivered. Altogether the meal was unappetizing and expensive. Will not order here again. "

Presentation was nice too with excellent prices compared to ordinary takeout. This is what Chinese take out USED to be where things were prepared fresh in house and prices were reasonable. If I'm spending $50 on Chinese food for one to two people, I want it to be fresh and from a chef that cares what theyre putting out. Beef & Bok Choy was excellent and fresh, huge portion enough for left overs. Spicy Sichuan Crispy Chicken (All Natural White Meat) was excellent. The Wonton Soup dumplings tasted homemade and broth was excellent. Tried the Cheeseburger Egg Roll (1 pc) and Classic Pork Egg Roll (1 pc) , no regrets. Excellent all around. "The portions were small, and the forgot 2/3rds of the order. Their packaging also doesn't reflect our amount with the cost of the food. The one entree that we got did look fresh but only included four pieces of beef which is concerning when the dish is beef and broccoli. While fresh the beef just tasted like it was seasoned with Worcestershire sauce and nothing else.
Overall, I won't be ordering from here again. Between the portions, the fact that they didn't include most of the order, the packaging, and most importantly the cost I'm incredibly disappointed by this restaurant."

"Heart great things about this restaurant but wife not feeling well so thought would surprise her with take out order. Ordered to pick up on way home from work, DoorDash said order would be ready 5:10pm. Arrived at 5:20 and told it would be 25 more minutes; friendly and apologetic that cook had just opened kitchen.
Came back at and was warmly greeted, given bag; noticed right away it was awfully light for almost $75 (4 items). Got home and saw why, only thing as pictured was the Signature Jako Salad . Black Cod Yuan Yaki was given only one piece even though two pieces shown in picture. American Wagyu Beef Curry Rice was about 2/3rds portion as pictured, much smaller oval container used rather than round one pictured. Pork Short Ribs Kakuni was a bit smaller than pictured. So, very disappointing portion sizes given price.
Taste-wise, Cod was terrific, very well marinated and cooked, just wish there was more. Curry was very good, but also small portion and still hungry after finishing it. Salad really wanted to like it but was just too salty. Short ribs ok, but also a little on salty side, but very tender.
Really wanted to like things but disappointed at the 35+ min lateness to order and while already a little pricey (quality ingredients, totally get it) the portion sizes were not as pictured. Much better value at the Loop (same owner) two blocks down the road.

"Pickup order was ready at the promised time. We really enjoyed some of the food items while others were just okay. Was disappointed that two of the eight pieces of sushi in the Sushi Regular entree were shrimp. They were super rubbery in texture and looked old. I also thought that this was pretty cheap of the restaurant to include two of these in the dinner entree. The Black Pepper Tuna Salad was excellent. It contained fresh lettuce and a plentiful portion of peppered tuna. There was no avocado included in the salad (as shown in the picture). The Spicy Maki Combo was also good. The maki rolls were a good size and tasted fresh. The Beef with Broccoli was a large portion, but average in flavor. No one liked the fried rice that came with the beef with broccoli. The Wonton in Szechuan Sauce were not what I was expecting. The wontons were drowning in a thai peanut sauce and only had a small spoonful of szechuan sauce on top. I thought that the wontons would have been coated in a generous helping of szechuan sauce with maybe a drizzle of peanut sauce. This was not the case. The wontons were way too sweet and ended up in the trash. Will consider trying Diner's Haven again at some point in the future."
