"Delicious Jamaican oxtails. My jerk chicken was packaged just right with oxtail gravy on my rice. Golden Krust on Lyons Ave. is the good one. I tried other Golden Krust and they suck in comparison to the on on Lyons Ave., they need to actually help out the other food chains. Lyons Ave. try the brown stew chicken and Escovitch fish when they have it good as well."

"The platters were sooo good and seasoned to perfection!!! Nice portons. The Stewed chicken special and the Curried Chicken Roti the flavor is on point, hands down 5 stars in regard to flavor. The only negative issue (but not so negative) I would have to say wouldbe that I would have preferred chicken pieces in the roti to not have the bones, lol. I was enjoying it so much when I went to bite down, I bit into a large bone. So had to remove the bones. Overall, hands down a must try. I will be ordering again. They were sold out of the Pound Cake but did offer me a coconut as replacement. The coconut cake is pretty good also."
"This was my first time ordering from Island Spot and to be honest I was scared. It's the fourth Caribbean restaurant I've tried and I was worried because of past experiences.
The way the carefully wapped the food was impressive. I have not seen that. The mixed steamed veggies were not soggy but crunchy and flavorful. The Medium Curried Chicken was a nice portionfor the price and very good. The rice and peas was fresh and wasn't dry or soggy, just right.
Although they delivered quicker than the estimated 30 mins, the food was a bit cold. I was also unable to choose between white rice or rice and peas, which I found odd. "

"Jerk Salmon wasn't jerk at all.. just bbq sauce.. & the meal was mostly rice... the rice & peas had no coconut in it...4/10..the Curry Goat was good but again even though I ordered a large it was mostly rice... even under the curry goat it was rice.. taste 7/10 but overall 5/10...will not be ordering from here again "

"The curry goat roti for $24.49 was not worth the price!! The meal was with only 4 small pieces of meat that had a lot of chipped bones in the gravy, plus there was a lot of potatoes that I didn't care for. It also came with a small scoop of pumpkin and channa.. considering how inexpensive pumpkin and channa is the serving size could have been better. Definitely a 2 out of 10 rating!!!"

"I have always liked the taste of their food better than any other Jamaican restaurant I've tried in my area:. Only issue is that most times I order, I am missing food. They run out after I've ordered and they just scratch that off the order and deliver the rest. I am not aware of the deletion until the food arrives. Very disappointing! For some reason their Oxtail Beef tasted like jerk seasoning which is unusual AND on top of it I ordered a large and was literally given only tiny small oxtail with fat. "First time trying this restaurant. I really wanted stew chicken. The chicken was tender and nice sized pieces for the price. The flavor of the chicken was ok but not wow this is really good. "Food is exceptional here! Always fresh, always flavorful and always delicious. My favorite on their menu is the fried turkey (well done) with brown rice and beans. The large comes with potato salad and if I order the small, I just add the potatoe salad as an extra. I order from this restaurant 2x a week and I tell everyone about them.
Do not hesitate to give them a try! Also, if you need certain accommodations with your order, just give them a call directly after; to submit your request. This is a "Chef's Kiss" restaurant."

"I love the bake and Bake & Saltfish! I wish they stuffed the bakes a bit more for the price, this order the saltfish was lacking. But it's very good nonetheless, and i will keep ordering . So good to have West Indianfood nearby!! "

"As a Jacan, Trinis make the best roti period. Glad this restaurant came across my feed. Best roti in this side of town."
"I was so excited to see a TT cafe nearby I just had to try it.
Staring with the Doubles , the pepper had a very spiced mustardy taste, which I loved. I hate when something is just hot for nothing, it was both hot and flavorful. The barra was a little bigger than I'm used to but as a result one was enough. Very pleasant, 8/10.
The bake and Saltfish stole the show honestly. It was still so very hot when it arrived, the bake was quite fresh as well as the saltfish. Pleasantly seasoned. This is going to be my go to. 11/10 please don't ever change this!
The Buss Up was nice, standard. I loved it. Going to go great with my meal tonight.
Lastly the Aloo Pie could've been better. I would've liked to try it without the extra sauces, as the flavors overwhelmed the pie.
I wish the Currant Rolls were in stock, I crave them so bad. Next time though, as I'll surely be ordering again. Thank you to the staff!"

"Real authentic traditional Cuban food. Old school Cuban flavors & cooking style, so delicious. This is my new favorite restaurant to order from. I ordered right before they were closing & food came so fresh & hot."
"Papa Rellena-- Where's the beef they used to give you 3 small ones which if you were lucky you'd get a few crumbs of beef.. now they give you 3 larger ones and again.. a few crumbs. It's a shame since they are so flavorful .. it's not worth the price"

"The description showed I would get marinade, patate, acra and plantain with the griyo. There was in fact only acra, griot and plantain. Also I got more fat than meat and it's not very tasty. Griyo is very dry & could use more seasoning. "

"Both items were SO good. The chicharron was crispy and salty. The onions in the bistec encebollado had a sweetness to them and went great with the rice and beef. The maduros were soft and sweet. Not pictured are the red beans, equally delicious. Can't wait to try other dishes"

"Best Dominican food in Bayonne.. the sandwiches and small fried appetizers are always amazing. They make the best lemonade. And so affordable. I love this spot."
"I was disappointed with my meal overall. The Pernil / Roast Pork and Tostones were both very dry, and the Jugo de Mango was so tart that it was difficult to enjoy. I also expected more from the Chicken Soup / Sopa de Polloāit contained one small potato and didnāt feel very hearty.
On a positive note, the Bistec Encebollado / Carmelized Onion Steak was delicious and full of flavor. The rice and beans were also very good, and the Maduros were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the dry meats and disappointing soup overshadowed the meal, so I donāt think Iāll be returning."

"I'm here from a different state , whenever I go to another state. I always make it my business to taste Haitian food. Magela's your tomtom gumbo is delicious, very flavorful, 10/10 . Next time I'm in town, I will definitely buy it again. The goat meat are way too big for me and I did not get any pikliz which makes it hard for me to eat the goat because it's not spicy. The same for the pig ears. The plantain is not fried to perfection. They are big and not crispy but tasty. If you had sent me one little pikliz my taste buds would have been happier. I will definitely recommend Magela's to my friends and families. By the way I saw that the pikliz was $2+ but I thought that was for extra, I don't know any Haitian restaurant that serves food without pikliz. I will make sure to add pikliz next time. The Akra was not too flavorful but eatable."
"Been craving Haitian food for a while, and Iām so glad I found this spot in East Orange, NJ. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Portions are generous, more than enough and the prices are very reasonable. This was my second order, and itās officially my go-to spot whenever Iām in town."
