The Cabeza was a let down. That's my favorite taco besides Al Pastor. It wasn't as tender as it should've been in my opinion. Other places the meat is so tender it melts in your mouth. You need it to be tender because it lacks flavor. So it was a little tough and flavorless and not good in my opinion. Then there is the Suadero. I've seen many videos from Mexico about it so I was excited to try it. Unfortunately it was very tough. I loved the flavor, it had a deep beef flavor and if it was tender I am sure it would've been my favorite taco, but the meat was hard. I am talking about how it is dark almost black hard and old. "i get the same thing every time, smothered fries with chile verde and cheese (sometimes no cheese if i'm watching myself) and they never fail. i've been to this establishment since they opened, and from what i've been told from my mom, i've been an addict since i was 5 years old by eating smothered burritos from other familiar places like La frontera or La Puente. They're a bit far from South Valley but they've got a long reach for delivery, and the food was just as smokin hot when it arrived had it come from just down the street.
The packaging when it arrived was very impressive. I love the brown paper bag, with the protective seal gluing the two sides together for protection! Very cool. No more staples or scotch tape. It took a bit of muscle to tear the top part of the bag open, but I loved that knowing there was no way anyone was inside that bag before it left the restaurant and it arrived on my doorstep.
