One thing that bugs me about breakfast places is if they dont know how to make good hashbrowns. So many places dont even offer them and instead they have breakfast potatoes which are often dry and chewy. The hashbrowns at Z Burger are top end. They are completely amazing. Everything else is top notch too but the hash browns are stand out. I think the prices here are about what you'd expect these days. But I think the food here for breakfast is McLean's best option. I’ve been trying for a few days to find my favorite burger in DC, and so far, out of the 5 places I’ve tried, this one was the best. Very flavorful, great sauces, and the meat was cooked exactly as I requested!
I’d just suggest a couple of small improvements to make it even better: the lettuce on the bottom tends to get soggy, so placing it on top might help with texture. Also, using a slicer for the onion and tomato could make the slices more uniform — the red onion and tomato were a bit thick, which slightly affected the overall balance of the burger. With more consistent slices, the flavors would be even better balanced.
