This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I am seriously impressed.
I got the breakfast plate with eggs, beef sausage, cheese grits, a biscuit, and two hash browns, and it was amazing. It tasted like the kind of breakfast you’d get at your grandma’s house on the weekend—if your grandma could really cook. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and it was worth every dollar.
I also got the salmon wrap with a side salad, and both were excellent. Everything tasted fresh, clean, and high quality. You can tell whoever is cooking knows how to cook real food.
The macaroni and cheese was really good, and the green beans were good too, though they were a little salty for my personal taste.
What really stood out was the customer service. An item I ordered wasn’t available, and the restaurant actually contacted me directly to make sure I was accommodated. They gave me an extra side and a FREE banana pudding, which was absolutely amazing.
The fact that all of this was delivered makes it even more impressive. Some restaurants don’t travel well, but everything arrived tasting fresh and delicious.
Honestly, this is some of the best food I’ve had so far in the Raleigh-Durham area. It’s not trying to be fancy or trendy—it’s just really good soul food made with quality ingredients and care. Great food, great portions, and great customer service.

They are very generous with the blueberries and the strawberries are usually really high quality. Every now and then, the quality is a little questionable, but it's more consistent than anywhere else I go, and the price is a bargain compared to other shops in the area. Excellent baked good. Their savory baked goods are worth shouting for - again something that sets them apart from some of the other coffee shops in the area. Almost every place will have great muffins and pastries, and Lucky Tree does too but they also have great savory options.
