"Excellent. This is authentic homemade ice cream. Excellent flavors. I've tried them all. I started eating at Handel's when they first opened in Cleveland, Ohio some 14 years ago.
My absolute favorite is the midnight madness, which is not offered on the regular menu, but on a rotation basis and it doesn't seem to come up that often. Also making my list are the praline pecan, mud pie, pistachio, black cherry.
Honestly, I haven't had any flavor I disliked. I also tried the sundaes and the banana split, however delicious, it masked the flavor of the indulgent ice cream.
I learned if I had a Handel's graving, while at work and couldn't take time to eat a cone or bowl, just order your favorite ice cream as a shake.

"The first flavor was the Garrison Bros. Whiskey & Pecan Pralines. It is very tasty with that special boost of boozy whiskey flavor on the back end. Pleasant smooth creamy vanilla ice cream with the pecan pralines appearing sporadically. Not in every bite. I would like to have more pecans to give it 5 stars.
The Chocolate with Polar Bear Paws offers a good dutch cocoa type chocolate ice cream. However, I definitely need more peanuts and peanut butter to give it more than 3 stars.
