Half of the container was tripe. and I know the recipe was authentic because on top in the center is an entire hoof and ankle joint. I love cartilagenous meats, and this was perfect. The tripe was tender and not chewy, and each veggie tasted like it was added to the pot at the perfect time to bring out its best flavor. The broth was rich and savory, warm but not spicy hot. "The food here was great. Ordered it to go and the food was ready upon pickup and stayed warm until we arrived home. The Potato Omelet was delicious. The cheese, chive, bacon and potatoes combo made a simple omelette taste out of this world. I usually add ketchup to my eggs but this was perfect all on its own. Turkey Sausage was good but the regular and blueberry Pancakes were amazing. The portions were huge and I struggled to eat two of three I ordered. I'm happy though because now I get to have leftovers.
Though we didn't eat at the restaurant, I enjoyed the vibe and ambiance of the place. Somewhat hippy and artsy. Very 'hole in the wall' feeling and it's right on VCU's campus. There was also outside seating available. Street parking is available too so it made the pickup smooth. Overall, this place was great and highly recommend."

"Even though it says Lemon Layer Cake, Hopkins has traditional style Birthday Cake (yellow cake with colorful white icing) by the slice too. So I pick a cake, like Lemon, that would be my second choice and then in the special instructions I write that I want birthday cake not lemon. I have ALWAYS ended up with the birthday cake. If you do this, just make sure you pick a cake that you would actually eat as your original order so if they are out of the birthday cake, then you will just end up with what you originally ordered. They have so many cake types, they just dont list all of them on the delivery apps. Double Chocolate is my mom's favorite but the Lemon and the Coconut is good too. Its nothing fancy but its awesome comfort food. The cakes are exactly like what you would get if you grabbed a Betty Crocker box of cake mix and made it yourself. The slices are big and definitely worth the price.
