"The quality of burgers has gotten so drastically bad over the last few years that I could find a frozen burger for $2 that you microwave and it's better than something like the Classic Smashed Jack™ which is over $8. "Overall the quality was fine but just not that great when there are so many other better Taqueria's in Santa Cruz. Most of the meat was fairly bland, the proportions of toppings to tortilla were just wrong, and it just left a lot to be desired. The Carnita's was probably the best of the ones we got, but it was overshadowed but the insane amount of cheese melted betweeen the 2 corn torillas (what is this Taco Bell?) and the plethora of cabbage. The highlight of the meal was the chips and the salsas. Both were very good and probably would have been happier with just that. I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars. Not neccisarily bad but very lack luster and dissapointing."

"Best dumplings in town, and best spicy beef dish ever! I've been to several of the Special Noodle locations in the bay, and was very excited when they expanded to Santa Cruz. Their pan fried soup dumplings are delicious, and they survive delivery quite well, arriving at a temperature that's still uncomfortably hot, but mercifully less scarring than when you dine in. The szechuan style hot oil dumplings are also a must-try.
Finally, their mixed chili beef (same as the Rainbow Beef in their location over the hill), is a crowning achievement in spiciness and impactful flavor, not to be missed if you can handle your heat."
