The flavor is not what I'm used to from the liquid, but it wasn't bad. It tasted kind of watered down to be honest. My complaint: it was this big tub filled with liquid and very few shrimp at the bottom. I didn't count them, so I can't tell how many actually came in there, but I just kept trying to fish them out of the bottom of this big tub of liquid and almost never came up with one. It was really hard to find them. I'm used to a lot of shrimp and a lot of vegetables filling up the space and the liquid being more of a sauce instead of a soup. also, I ordered extra cucumbers and I can't find a single one! That being said, I ate/drank the whole thing and it was okay, The flavor was fine.
