Shish Kabob Grill is a family-owned and operated Mediterranean restaurant that has proudly served the Denver community since 2004. Situated across from the Colorado State Capitol, we’ve earned our rep…
We live just two blocks from this spot and they have some great flavors. My wife and I have had it a few times and it is up there if you enjoy middle eastern or Mediterranean food. I love a good Gyros Sandwich and thats a go to on any menu that has them since a kid. I really enjoy theirs and you will not be disappointed with flavor or portion but to me nothing beats their lamb kabobs and the seasoning/sauce that its grilled in. Next order I would go for a scewer plate with 3 scewers of just the lamb and their rice. Its a great flavor and grilled to perfection! Trust me on the lamb even if you do not eat much lamb this one will convert you.

Nice spot that is very close to us right by the Capital. We've eaten here a few times and everything is always nice flavors, fresh food and good portions. The Gyros Wrap was very good but the pita started to break apart while I was trying to eat it. Maybe toasting the pita a little may help but the flavors were good other than that issue. My wife had the Chicken Shawarma Plate and really enjoyed it. Once again it's a nice portion and we added an Extra Skewer of Beef Kafta. Well seasoned nice Kafta here, we had it in the past so I just wanted one as an extra treat.

Food tasted great but portions for the Vegetarian Plate was chincy. 1 dolma, 1 falafel, yet lots of rice and pitas for over $20. Gyros Plate was tasty, we would order that again. Inflation has really questioned what you get for the price.

I really wanted to like this independent family business, but unfortunately the food was just not great and way overpriced to boot. I got the chicken kabob because I heard other reviews that said the chicken was dry, so I assumed the kebab would be cooked fresh as opposed to the shawarma which is often left cooking all day. Unfortunately the kebab was clearly not freshly made - it was very dry like it had been sitting out all day. The hummus and baba were ultra creamy but they were both oversalted. The baba more so almost to the point of being inedible. The green beans were refrigerator-cold. The falafel was not crispy. The pita bread was homemade which I appreciated, but honestly it was over-salted and kind of greasy. I would have preferred store bought.

Our absolute favorite Mediterranean restaurant. The Gyros Plate is perfect portion for 2. So succulent and juicy. And my favorite Hummus Appetizer super creamy and delicious, if you visit in person which I highly suggest, get a pint of hummus for your fridge. The family that owns it is wonderful as well, been seeing them for the last 10 years. For the reviews that complain about price: it's not cheap, it's delicious well made food with 100% better/deeper flavor than any cheap Mediterranean restaurant IMO. If your on the fence, order Gyros plate , hummus and Baklava.
