The ramen is very very good but the katsu is the best I've had in the DC area... packing the slaw dressing separate from the cabbage and the ages arriving perfectly cooked shows that they care about the quality of their delivery. Always the sign of a good restaurant. 5 stars easy.

Fried rice w/ shrimp was FYE, soo yummy, will def reorder. The veg ramen was decent but i wont reorder (pictured here are 3 eggs, I ordered extra since I didn't know it came with one already). Pros: broth was flavorful, noodles were well-portioned and good, chewy texture. +1 for packaging them separetely. Cons: i don't like how the mushrooms are prepared, they're fried and taste gross and sweet. Also agree with others that more broth would be ideal. I give it 4.5.

The Spicy Miso broth is great :) the piece of pork that comes with is way too thick and hard to chew on. Not sure why they make it this way instead of the usual ramens (thinly sliced charsiu pork)
The Shoyu ramen was just okay.
Ramens are heavy on the bean sprouts if you're ok w that!

The Braised Short Rib was not short ribs, it's pot roast. A lot of pot roast. So, false advertisement. Also it's very underwhelming. The Salmon Avocado Roll * is not salmon. It was nothing like regular sushi grade salmon. Dry and flavorless - like it seemed like vegan salmon. The avocado in both the Salmon Avocado Roll * and California (Masago) * was not ripe. Super disappointing meal.

marumen is one of my favorite places! the food is awesome and they never get my order wrong. shoyu ramen with added menma is my fav - and the nitamago is always perfect <3
