The Shihan Ful is one of my favorite meals in town. Filling, tasty, full of beans and fresh veggies.This place is always great!

Everything about this meal absolutely sets my soul on fire. The taste is warm and comforting. The portion size is filling and the ingredients are fresh. Shihan Ful has become one of my safe foods/ comfort meals. I first tasted this 7 years ago when I lived in Berkeley and it has had me under a spell ever since.

The food from this Eritrean cafe is different from other Ethiopian restaurants.  Portions are smaller which is good. I don't like taking food home or feeling overstuffed. Plus it keeps the price reasonable and  allows me to try more dishes for the same amount of money.  Most of the dishes I've never seen in other Ethiopian restaurants.  The flavors are amazing.  The cafe is simple, homey and laid back.  No frills.  I think I tried almost every dish on their menu.  Every one is delish.  Some are spicy, some are not.  The spiciest one is about 7/10 on a scale of 1-10.  That would be the Kicha Fit.  Lots of Eritreans/Ethiopians dine here, so you know that the food is authentic.
