The Green Juice and the Chemaki Special were all really good! My issue is that there was no bag or anything to hold the drinks that were delivered. Which maybe would be fine if I picked them up myself, but I didn't. So that was strange. I'd order again and hope they can give a bag for or atleast a cup holder for the drinks.

Chemaki is an Ethiopian restaurant located on the corner of Telegraph Ave in Oakland, California.
The atmosphere when approaching gives off this comfy vibe while Afro-beats play in the background.
My go-to drink from the establishment is an iced cinnamon, French vanilla oat-milk latte with caramel drizzle added, which was recommended by the barista who's there in the morning.
(Highly recommended whether it's iced or hot with your choice of milk.)
I would definitely continue coming to this establishment to try more items on the menu and just for the vibes.

Avocado toast? More like guacamole on soggy bread. They did not toast the Avocado Toast!! Or the Tuna Melt. How do you not toast an item with "toast" in the name....
I ordered boiled eggs with the avo toast and they told me at pickup that they didn't have any, but gave me more smoked salmon to make up for it. *checks toast* it only had 2 slices of smoked salmon.
Why not just give a refund if you didn't have something that was ordered?
Ice Matcha should not even be called a matcha. The cup was white and tasted like someone poured straight coffee creamer in it. Extremely sweet and syrupy. I had even requested no sugar....but got no matcha instead.
Really wanted to like this place but the food and drinks need a lot of improvement.

We put in an order for pickup, but there was an issue with Doordash on their end, so it basically was like we had to order at the counter and then walk around to kill time while it was made.
I ordered avocado toast on seed bread with an egg added on. Instead, I got: one stale piece of soggy bread, browned slices of half of an avocado, a few slices of unremarkable tomato, a few slices of overcooked hard-boiled egg, a sprinkling of translucent, mushy red diced onions, and another piece of soggy bread, uncut.
Not "toast" in any sense of the term, and it looked nothing like the photos. I took one bite and put it down because it was so dry and flavorless.
I was tempted to just throw it out, but took it home and managed to salvage it by flipping the stale bread slice around, adding hummus, mayonnaise, lettuce, za'atar, toum, black salt and ground black pepper. The ingredients were so blasé that it took a lot of work to make it edible.
It is perplexing to me that the juice is not customizable, even though they literally juice it when it's ordered. I ordered the beet + ginger + carrot juice and it was the only redeeming part of the experience.

I'm disappointed that I got a large Green Juice that was weirdly separated and even when stirred, a dirt brown color. Tasted completely off and not able to get a refund for something I can't even drink.
