I don't know why people rate this place so low. The curry sauce is some of the best I've had around the bay, measures up to what I've had in Japan as a Japanese person, and it's simple yet good. I think people just don't see the fancy toppings etc and take away points for that. But trust me, the flavor and quality (lack of graniness) is there.

The food was delicious. The chicken was juicy, the curry was flavorful, and the rice was cooked perfectly. My only concern is the packaging. They use a very thin plastic cover for the katsu and curry that isn't heat resistant and the plastic cover was touching the katsu directly and was partially melted upon arrival. It is a bit concerning.

Chicken Katsu Curry was burned dark brown to black and you could taste the char. Curry had a wine flavor that wasn't bad but certainly unusual if you're expecting traditional Japanese curry.
Gyudon had an earthy almost moldy flavor. Maybe a mushroom of some sort? it was edible, but again, unusual.
We enjoyed the rice, pickles and edamame garnish.

I've tried everything from Demiya, to Coco Ichibanya in Japan. And this place stands up there with Demiya at least. The curry sauce is amazing. I don't know why all the reviews are low, maybe because their dishes aren't fancy? But that doesn't matter.
Please trust that the curry sauce is wonderful. Chicken Katsu Curry was juicy and so crunchy.

Incredibly small portion size for the price. The big Karaage (Fried Chicken)-Big 3pcs came with three pieces about the size of two chicken nuggets. The GyuCurry (Stewed Beef with Curry) itself was not bad but it had barely any rice.
