• 5/10/23I used to live in NJ and would make special trips into New York City SOLELY to stock up on Katz' pastrami sandwiches. They were worth the trip.
Now living in CA -- and unable to find ANYTHING that remotely compares to Katz Deli products -- I'm thrilled to see it listed here! But please, Katz Deli, offer more selections! Maybe pastrami by the pound? I know you have so much more to offer.
If you're not familiar with Katz Deli and why everyone raves about it, allow me to pass on to you what I learned in the NYC deli itself 20+ years ago while waiting on my order.
Katz' pastrami is like none other because they still make it like they did 100+ years ago -- no shortcuts! Their pastrami is cured in brine for 3 weeks (as opposed to 36 hrs. for commercial pastrami), rubbed in special spices (not injected with “flavors”), slow smoked for 3 days, boiled for 3 hours to make it extra juicy & tender, and then hand carved.
They take their time making their melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, and I can 100% taste the difference. Katz Deli has never compromised their reputation or the quality of their products. Perhaps that's one reason why they made Condé Nast’s list of the nationwide best meal kit providers.
Hint: if given a choice, get the lean pastrami, as regular pastrami tends to naturally be fatty.

• 5/25/22Idk how to express how AMAZING the food from Katz is. It's so hard to put it into words. I order from them regularly at this point, 5 times in the last 3 months. The pickles AMAZING.. the Kugel is just like my mom makes (her is better tho lol). But the Bagels! Oy vey they bagels are to die for... it had to be that classic New York tap water (lol if you know u know). The latkas are as traditional as u can get! You cannot find Pastrami that tastes like this ANY where else. It's make u want to.... (wink) Meg Ryan all over it. ORDER ORDER ORDER... no I was not paid to write this but will consoder it in future if asked! Love you guys keep on killing it! Thanks for a taste of home when I'm not home.

• 5/24/23I cannot believe that this food received high scores. A few of the items were fair (sauerkraut, bagels, rye bread) and a few were good (pastrami, mustard, hot dog buns). But the rest were poor (corned beef, salami, hot dogs, pickles). For $170, the package was definitely not worth the cost. We threw most of it away. I am accustomed to deli food from St. Louis, MO. It must be very different in NY.

Katz's Deli ships Monday - Wednesday of each week, for delivery Wednesday - Friday. Orders cannot be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, or to a PO box. During Thanksgiving week, orders will only ship on Monday & Tuesday.
