Deep dish or thin crust? At Little Star Pizza, you can have both. Founders Jon Guhl designed a menu that features both thick, cheesy, Chicago-style pizza and thin, crispy pies (with abundant gluten-fr…
The 9" Deep Dish was plenty when we paired it with a Small Goddess and the Small Roasted Cauliflower. It was plenty for two! There's not a thing I've ordered from here that I haven't loved. Huge fan, highly recommend!

This is my all time favorite pizza! Packed with flavor and thick with goodness! The crust is like no other. It's more like a cornbread texture than doughy. Typically, I like doughy but this pizza is great all around and the cornbread-like crust is just right for this pizza.

Little Star/The Star is one of the most consistently solid pizza places in the Bay Area for the styles they serve up. As a native Chicagoan born and raised, let me first say no, we do not eat deep dish often. More often than not we tend to prefer our thin crust tavern style, which is vastly superior to deep dish but good luck finding that out here....
ANYWAY, while we do not eat deep dish all the time like some might think, we do partake in the behemoth style pizza pie when the moment calls for it. Because deep dish is enjoyed less frequently, we Chicagoans have very high standards for deep dish pizza. Little Star has never let me down in the 13+ years I've lived in the Bay. The flavors are always spot on, the pizza sauce is just right, the crust is excellent, the sausage is proper Chicago style sausage, and the pizza is not all bread, as it should be. The slices are deceptively filling, the pizza, while costly, will feed quite a few easily, and I will happily order from them again over another place that claims to make Chicago style pizza in their name, but does not at all.
Is Little Star my favorite deep dish place in the Bay? No, but it's easily top 3 and far more accessible than my favorite (oh and their Detroit Style is fire).

First time ordering.
Food came in nice and fresh, even when Dasher had an additional stop to make. Packaging was of sturdy quality that kept the food safe, neat, and sealed.
The 9" Deep Dish Pizza is a good size for two meals (or one if you're really hungry). Very satisfying after 2-3 slices so you're less likely to overeat if that is an issue. Mine had sausages and chicken which were both great toppings. The chicken in particular was most satisfying as it was tender abd provided a nice bedding for all the cheese and tomato sauce to lay on. The crust was okay. More on the harder side when you get to the end, but provided a nice crunch. Not much to say in terms of flavor, but it provided good structure for the pizza and crunchy texture. Overall, satisfied.
The Chocolate Chip Cookie, however, left much to be desired. First, site says "deep dish cookie" but it looked like a normal big, flat cookie. What surprised me is that it tasted reminiscent to an oatmeal cookie, so I didn't get that traditional cookie flavor I was expecting. It also arrived fresh, but not warm, and had a nice soft texture. Could easily scoop out chunks with a spoon, which made it easy to eat it with the ice cream it came with. The ice cream was vanilla, but didn't have much vanilla flavor. Kind of like French Vanilla, but way less sweet and just a hint if vanilla. Ice cream was partially melted on arrival. Overall, just okay.
Total experience was still good. Wasn't too amazed, but it made for a satisfying dinner.

Their deep dish is superior to Zachary's. Fabulous crust, Interesting combos, especially the ricotta & meatballs. Generous with the toppings. Avoid the thin crust for delivery if you're not close by. It gets cold. Sometimes they get the order wrong when you're requesting a substitution.
