There may be a better restaurant in Montclair than Marcel, but I can't think of one. Get yourself a side of Harissa 2.oz. It' a fiery condiment, so go easy, but it's good on many things. The $1 COLD BREW SPECIAL was nice to see.

I love all their vegan options, they're well thought out and there's a good variety. Their food is consistently delicious and good value for the price. Usually the delivery is very quick, but this time there was a decent delay, and when the food arrived they'd given me a bunch of pastries to make up for it! The Vegan Shawarma Bowl is so yummy, one of my faves and I even like their pickles despite not usually liking pickles.

This place is an absolute gem. I regularly order the Commited Jew bagel sandwich and it is BEYOND good. They make the bagel in house and it's so fluffy and warm and just the right amount of crispness on the outside, good chew. Now I've become obsessed with their Mishmish Shakshuka . It's so flavorful and well cooked. I'm usually a pretty tidy eater but this dish I'm all hands in, scooping that Pita (1) bread in all the good tomato juices and zaatar spices. I cannot say enough about this place. Everything I get is amazing!

if you've enjoyed authentic shakshuka/menemen, then Marcel Shakshuka will be lackluster and bland.
the eggs were overdone (not runny), and the overall flavor tasted of only tomatoes and mushrooms. not well spiced at all.

The Challah French toast was delicious - soft but not soggy, done just right, with nice size portion of banana and strawberries.
