Mint Leaf is a family-run Vietnamese restaurant with locations in West Berkeley and Alameda.
Our genuine Southern Vietnamese food with contemporary twists is enjoyed by our guests.
Saigon Style Rice Plate is a hella generous portion compared to other Vietnamese spots in Alameda. Grilled pork was perfect. Crispy Imperial Roll comes with veg and a portion of rice noodles. SO GOOD! Best value for your $$$.

Beef was really tough the last couple times we ordered it. I would rather pay a little more and return to it being melt in your mouth. Fish was greasy and underseasoned. Fries were soggy. This restaurant used to be a favorite. No more.

The Lemongrass Roll "Thit Nuong Cuon" were delightful, the pineapple really complimented the lemongrass beef.
I really enjoyed the Sweet Potato and Curry Chicken Clay Pot "Ca Ri Ga Kho Tho" with its big chunks of sweet potato, carrots, and lots of chicken!
My go-to order always includes the Bahn Mi sanSSandwich Only, Saigon Vermicelli Bowl "Bun Dac Biet" this time I got it with chicken vs my normal pork, and Prawn Spring Roll "Goi Cuon Tom".

Discovered Mint years ago and it was a revelation to eat the egg rolls wrapped in lettuce and dip in the vinaigrette!
A few weeks later I tried the spring rolls and was very pleased to pair that with true peanut sauce, very light and clean flavor.
Fast forward to May 2022 and many moves later, I'm glad they made it through the pandemic, tastes just as good as I remember!
Pho ga is Vietnamese chicken soup without all the added salt and unnecessary things. Mint does theirs very well, great chicken broth which includes the chicken in it unlike most places. Add the noodles, sprouts, mint and bay leaves, jalapeño slices if you're adventurous, the Hoisin sauce and some Sri Racha for the way it's supposed to taste, mouth watering good! I admit describing this is causing me to salivate!

Wonton's were so dense packed in box the box fell
apart. Wonton's were broken and mushy. They were also way too sweet A little sweetness with the savory is fine, but this was off putting. Usually one of my favorite restaurants for Vietnamese.
