Best Wiener Schnitzel between SF and San Jose. There's one place in San Carlos I haven't tried yet, but the bar is pretty high. Not inexpensive, but the extra dollars get you a world class veal Schnitzel and authentic, delicious potato salad.

Bland, bland, bland. Jäger Schnitzel was swimming in a mushroom cream sauce. The sauce was heavy cream, butter, mushrooms, flour, salt, and pepper. That's it. No herbs. No wine. No garlic. No onions. No nutmeg. Germans love onions, so it should have been loaded with onions and garlic. But it wasn't. It was painfully bland. Also had the apfel strüdel; it was ok, edges were burnt, but ok with the vanilla sauce and whipped cream. Best part was the hot food containers; fully contained all liquid and kept food hot!

The Apple Strudel, presented with whipped cream, a side of vanilla bean ice cream, and a delicate dusting of powdered sugar atop its robust frame, arrived with an understated elegance befitting its Viennese heritage. Upon first taste, I was struck by the meticulous contrast of textures the outer crust, flawlessly crisp, yet yielding to the fork with a satisfying crackle, hinted at the skilled craftsmanship behind its creation.
The filling was a revelation. The marriage of tender apples and a rich infusion of cinnamon evoked a warmth and depth that one seldom finds outside of a controlled culinary environment. This was not a haphazard cinnamon note, mind you, but a carefully measured symphony of spice that complemented rather than overwhelmed.
The accompaniments, too, warrant acknowledgment. The vanilla bean ice cream, with its authentic flecks of vanilla, demonstrated a purity and authenticity that is increasingly rare. The whipped cream, light yet decadent, offered a counterbalance to the strudel’s structural richness.
While I had not intended to order this dessert, I can now unequivocally state that the Apple Strudel from Naschmarkt stands as a testament to the market’s dedication to excellence. It is an archetype of its kind, one that honors tradition while meeting the high standards of discerning patrons such as myself.

Truly heartwarming food. I ordered the Sausage Trio. It came with 3 diffrent types of fermented cabage and onions - all were home made in a time consuming real food type of way. I love that the menu lets you add dietary restrictions and listens to them. Though the price seems a bit much at first glance - the portion size is good for the price and the amount of care that goes into the food + high quality ingredients really shine. It is certainly some of the food I've had on cal ave and I look forward to visiting in person and ordering again.

Best Wienerschnitzel in the area, bar none. Truly superb! I've dined in several times, food is always excellent, service certainly very good. First DD today; Schnitzel traveled well, large portion. Highy recommend for both dine in and DD. No photo as Iwas very hungry.
