I'm a native new yorker and I've had so many meals from halal carts in my younger days, scarfing them down on the train with my tie flung over my shoulder. These guys at ny gourmet deli reproduce that flavor so authentically, it's like being back there. I would even go so far to say their lamb over rice is not only authentic but as good as the best halal carts in NY.

I've been ordering from these folks for a long time.. my sandwiches usually come with a good amount of meat in them and the fries usually have a nice taste and a tenderness. This last time there was very very little meat portion, and the sandwich looked like it was smashed. the french fries as well was super hard like sticks and extremely salty. I'm really disappointed.

The ketchup I got is was spoiled. It tasted almost carbonated. Also the prices at this one are so ridiculous. You can go to the one on dyer and get the chopped cheese for 3 to 4 dollars less. Don't bother with this downtown one.

I usually LOVE the cheese steak, but this time, it was almost like they washed the lettuce and put it RIGHT on the sandwich without shaking it off..the bread was soggy on the bottom, there were NO flavors, and a SMEAR of meat...so NOT what I expected from my go-to spot. I'm HOPING it was a fluke and will give them one more chance to return to the GREAT sandwiches that made me fall in love in the first place.

Ladies and Gentlemen, order your Philly the way you want it.. it's absolutely delicious 😋 I got mine with extra mayo..onions and bell peppers.. I asked to hold back on the spicy, and they came through.. it was done properly. Thank you, and I will come back again.
