I don’t order out a ton of fast food anymore, I’m 64 years old and that’s not wise of me to be doing. I’ve been holed up in a physical rehab facility for the past four plus months trying to rehab my legs after a pretty big stair fall. The food provided within this facility is abysmal and so tonight when I could bear to eat what they were serving I had a hankering for Portillo’s. I wanted a jumbo hotdog for my dinner and something else for later, one of their jumbo tamales.
Growing up as a kid in a small town and playing Little League baseball, the recreation association held a yearly all-star tournament and it was pretty special when my tea wasn’t playing and I’d show up on my bicycle to watch the others, and I could buy a Tamale for just 15 cents. Oh how I loved them/
My hotdog tonight was outstanding, everything on it but Onions and Peppers. My Tamale, however, was otherworldly. It tasted exactly as I remember them tasting more than 50 years ago, but much bigger and more grand. They cost a bit more than 15 cents but are well worth the asking price. I have a feeling I will be dining upon them once again very soon. Thanks Portillo’s they were outrageously great. And to the delivery driver from Door Dash, thank-you. This young man had it here in a flash and even brought it up to my room. Give that man a raise!

I asked for my burger to be well done. They cooked it exactly how I like it. It was very good. I'm not able to finish the burger, however, this time I ate every bite. Of course the chocolate cake was wonderful per usual. I am not a fan of chocolate cake, but, I love Portillo's chocolate cake!!

Better than I expected! A big portion of hash browns and I like that you can get cheese sauce for dipping. Only suggestion I have is for the Maple Sausage & Egg Croissant. The eggs are piled too high so it's tough to eat the sandwich without removing some of the eggs.

Why are the cakes from this location so inconsistent? This cake looks like it's been through a whole bunch of things, and it's dry. I ordered two cakes to treat myself and my child to something sweet and this is what I was sent. Icing running and dry cakes.

An optimist, I ordered the beef and cheddar croissant again. Big mistake! Last time I ordered it there was little cheddar; this time I had to search for it. Found maybe a teaspoonful. Word to the wise: order the beef sandwich and use Cheez Wiz or something you have to get cheese. Also, tasted bacon cheeseburger - it was so good!!
