I have been a loyal customer of Primos for over 10 years and have always enjoyed dining in at the restaurant, which is why this experience was so disappointing.
Tonight was actually my very first DoorDash order from Primos, and unfortunately it was a really frustrating experience from start to finish.
I ordered the Chicken Marsala, which I have ordered many times dining in, along with a small side salad that included one ranch dressing. I also paid extra for an additional large ranch dressing. When my order arrived, the extra large ranch was completely missing.
I called the restaurant hoping they could help resolve the issue, but the manager, Spencer, simply told me I would need to contact DoorDash. I did contact DoorDash, and they also could not do anything to get the missing ranch delivered. The ranch was important because it was meant for a larger salad I was preparing for company.
What upset me even more was the lack of accountability or even a simple apology. Mistakes happen, but the way the situation was handled made me feel completely dismissed as a longtime customer.
The food quality was also shockingly poor compared to what I am used to receiving in the restaurant. The chicken in the marsala did not appear to be the usual sliced chicken breast. Instead, it seemed like tough dark meat with skin and even a few small bones. The texture was rigid and unpleasant, and honestly nothing like the quality I have consistently received dining in over the years.
The portion itself also seemed noticeably smaller — probably around 75% of what you would normally receive inside the restaurant.
I understand restaurants likely make less profit on DoorDash orders, but that should never impact food quality, portion sizes, or customer service. If I had been served those pieces of chicken while dining inside the restaurant, I absolutely would have sent the dish back.
To be clear, my dine-in experiences at Primos have always been excellent, and I would still give the restaurant itself 5 stars overall. I’m posting this review in hopes that management recognizes that takeout and DoorDash customers deserve the same level of quality and care that dine-in customers receive.
As someone who has lived in Danville for over 40 years and supported Primos for a very long time, I left this experience feeling extremely frustrated and pushed aside.
Before I dine in again — which I likely will because I do genuinely enjoy and support local businesses — I do plan to speak with management directly. Unfortunately, I definitely will not be placing another DoorDash or takeout order after this experience.

Incredibly expensive for a small pizza. Food was delicious but cost was too high. Gluten free crust was great

Fries are excellent. Hand cut from real fresh potatoes not from frozen. Salad was fresh and good I recommend asking for extra cheese because it would be nice to have more blue cheese. Ordered the taco chicken and rice. I was told ld tacos are great. I did not realize it was not tacos but rather meat on top of rice so make sure you have shells, pico de gallo and cheese to make a taco

Bought a Pepperoni pizza from them with double pepperoni. Was delivered only half of what was shown on a normal pepperoni pizza. Quality and ingredients don't match the pics at all. Probably won't order from them again.
