Our cuisine is inspired by the original table fare of the Golden State's Spanish and Mexican Californios. By the 1500s, Spanish explorers had adopted many of the indigenous foods of Mexico; 200 years …
Both items were tasty, but the proportions of some ingredients were off. For the Rancho Burrito there was a lot of meat and for the Rancho Nachos there was too little guacamole. the Rancho Nachos came with the chips under the toppings which makes them soggy by the time they get to you.

Food tastes just fine - definitely not good enough to justify the price. The big problem however was how little of everything they gave us. Guac ($11.50) container was 2/3 empty and about 20 chips in paper bag, kids bean and cheese burrito ($6.50) is the size of a hot wheel toy, carne asada plate ($26.00) has about 3 oz of Carne asada in it. I called to ask if there was a mistake and they hung up on me. I paid over $60 for this order for 3 people... advise against this place.

Love everything about this place. Enchiladas, burritos and the brick chicken are our go-to's. Kids size burritos are a nice touch and plenty for our kiddos. Chile relleno was really the only thing I haven't liked and it's just because it didn't travel well...it's great at the restaurant. To-go margs are pricey but fun...and delicious.. for an impromptu party. Only problem with doing take-out is you don't get to hang out on the patio and talk to Avery!

While their website does a great job marketing what sounds like a great restaurant, our meal was highly disappointing. First, this is the most expensive me icanrestaurant in the lafayette/walnut creek/concord/martinez area. As such expectations that the tacos would come with more than meat and tortillas (and looked like it was thrown literally into a box). Paying $30 for tacos and not getting any cheese, sour cream, guacamole and no beans or rice is robbery. Amdthe taste was mediocre at best.
Same with the enchiladas.
I also ordered beans and rice which were forgotten. My carnitas interestingly did come with rice and beans for the same $30. While the beans were flavorable, the rice was dreadful: flavorless and over cooked.
This was my first time trying Rancho Cantina, and appears to be the last even if the menu looks very appealing.

The Dasher had to wait at the restaurant for 20 minutes and the order was cold. I live 6 minutes away. That was restaurant problem. The food was average at best. This place is overpriced. No rice or beans with enchiladas even though it says it's included and pictured. They should probably fix that issue. The enchiladas were extremely chewy and no sauce. The soup was not great and very small. I would never spend so much money on a mediocre meal again.
