No better Japanese food for over 6,800km! Sakura Tei is the platinum standard for an authentic local experience, greeted with a beaming smile without fail, the staff of Sakura Tei would be the greatest part of the restaurant had their food not consistently provided a delicious meal. Portions that will leave you with atleast enough leftovers for a snack, an incredible quality of ingredients, never once doubting their freshness, and prices that seem to have these guys running at a loss. Absolutely the greatest place in Geelong for a Japanese meal. Thankyou to Flora and the team for many years of incredible food!

Sakuratei Japanese Cuisine is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and authentically Japanese. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure you feel well looked after without being intrusive.
The food is outstanding – fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The sushi and sashimi are melt-in-your-mouth quality, and the hot dishes are equally impressive, cooked with care and perfectly seasoned. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite.
What I love most is the balance between traditional Japanese flavours and creative touches on the menu. Portion sizes are generous, and everything feels excellent value for the quality you’re getting.
Whether you’re here for a casual dinner, a special occasion, or just craving some authentic Japanese food, Sakuratei never disappoints. I’ll definitely be back again and again – highly recommended!

Ordered the sushi bento, it's packed SO full of fresh sushi and fish, will be multiple meals for me. The store was so kind and surprised me with 4 free hand rolls with my order - I'm home sick and this has made my day!

I ordered the main size of moriawase and I'm certain they just gave me the entree size pack. seven pieces of nigiri/hand roll slices. a few slices of sashimi. the hand roll was just California, so crab stick and not real fish. one of the nigiri was crab stick on rice, which even the most 'hole-in-the-wall' hand roll places don't do. they threw in a 'free' pack of cheapo crab stick California hand rolls to make up for it, I guess. no chopsticks. but charging close to $38 for this. I have no idea why this place keeps getting such high ratings or is considered authentic Japanese.
