Talab is a new Indian restaurant that serves authentic Bengali and North Indian cuisine.
Our signature dishes include our mutton sabzi and kolkata rolls.
Hands down, their food is as close to authentic Kolkata-style food as you can get in the Bay Area. The KOLKATA STYLE MUGHLAI BIRIYANI and KOLKATA STYLE PRAWN MALAI CURRY are so good!

KOLKATA STYLE MUGHLAI BIRIYANI is very similar to authentic biryani from KOLKATA. A tad bit heavy on the Keora water flavor but overall decent with two pieces of chicken , an egg and a potato. Does not come with any side though similar to most kolkata style biryanis.

The aloo dum portion in PEAS KOCHURI & ALOO DUM wasn't great, the container was similar to a raita bowl you get at biryani shops. It also had a bitter after taste which was weird, maybe something got burnt.
While the KOLKATA FISH FRY tasted okay, it was a bit dry on the inside, and didn't get any mustard sauce with it, don't know why.

One tiny piece of paratha with minimal stuffing. No keema, hardly any egg. Not sure how they can charge $19 for this.

Received burnt BADSHAHI TANDOORI PRAWNS - 5 PCS in the name of Tandoori , overcooked and dry .
The CHAPLI KEBAB - 4 PCS was ok but too salty but eatable.
PANEER SHASLIK was just overflowing with ginger based single tone marinade
