The Kitchen
Clever Koi is an Asian-stimulated kitchen & craft cocktail bar with places in Central Phoenix and ancient downtown Gilbert. Once inside, buyers are warmly greeted by way of means of a numb…
I ordered the pork ramen for the first time and it's the best ramen I've had in the city so far. I added shrimp to add more balance to all the carbs. I only wish I ordered an extra soup (broth). I'll be ordering again.

The Shaking Beef portion is small. The plate is over 20 dollars and its not worth the cost. And the NEW! Pork Tonkotsu Ramen was not good. Too many noodles and not enough broth. It was unseasoned and no flavor. Fried rice is mid at best.

Wildly expensive. The quality isnt terrible, but the cost just highlights every flaw. Inpaid $9.00 for shrimp to be added to my Drunken Noodles. Nine. Dollars. I got FOUR SHRIMP. There is a general lack of seasoning that is a bummer for a place that specializes in noodle and rice dishes.

I have never been disappointed with the food, quality and flavor at the Clever Koi. We ordered it delivered this evening and could not believe how delicious the food was. We have no pictures to post because we ate it as soon as it arrived .
We had drunken noodle and chow mein with lemon chicken. The chow mein with lemon chicken was excellence.

I live nearby and was excited to try the fried rice for a fast easy dinner this week. I added lemongrass chicken and scrambled egg. The rice was REALLY greasy. I'm thinking butter, which was an option to omit. If I were going to try again, I definitely would in hopes it helped. My bigger issue was the dry, sliced chicken breast laid on top of the rice. No lemongrass to note and way overcooked. The scrambled egg addition was a slab of egg laid on top of the rice. Neither add-on was incorporated into the dish - such an an easy step. I paid Clevor Koi prices for a dish I decided not to finish. Based on how a basic dish like fried rice fared, I'm not sure I'll try again.
