"Excellent Chicken Biryani (although it was too spicy for me to finish). The spiciness is hardly the restaurant's fault, and I should have requested a milder level of heat. Nevertheless, the dish was obviouly well-prepared and flavorful with a good amount of boneless chicken for the price. I also enjoyed the Daal and Onion Naan . "Their ' SAMBHAR ' , South Indian Lentil Soup on the Side is EXQUISITE ' !!! It had quartered squash in there & roasted black mustard seeds !!! All the Chutneys were Gr8 as were the ' Vada ' ( Fried Lentil Donuts ). The ' Curried Potato Filling inside the Dosa / Crepe was good as well, but the Dosa / Savory Crepe could be more ' Brown ' to my liking.
All in All though their South Indian Vegetarian Cuisine is a ' Gift to Downtown Berkeley '. Quite Unique. Have dined in and had their Thaali combination Lunch Plate & Madras Coffee.

"Wow! We've had some pretty subpar Indian on Door Dash and this is by far the best Indian food I've had in a long time! I called to ask if they could make the Aloo Gobi extra spicy and it was perfect. "I Thought I ordered the butter chicken rice bowl but I got chickpea salad bowl! It was insanely flavorful! Strong delicious flavors. Bowl made 2 meals though it coulda shoulda been 3 or 4 days meals. I had to lick the container clean at the end. The samosa was really good and came w 2 dipping sauces. The Chicken Momo lapping was the highlight. The momos were soft, juicy, and well stuffed with flavorful minced chicken. The “lapping” style, covered in a rich, slightly spicy sesame based sauce, added a creamy and tangy kick that made the dish stand out. The sauce was balanced not too spicy, but enough to give a nice warmth. The portion size was generous and perfect for sharing, although I could easily finish it myself because it was that good.

"The tiki chaat was covered in yogurt which is not advertised anywhere on their page. It's not mentioned on their website menu either. I scraped off a good chunk of these dishes because I didn't want to deal with an upset stomach from the dairy.

"The Methi (Fenugreek) Malai Chicken had zero flavor intensity. Couldn't taste the spices at all. The Aloo Gobhi (Potato Cauliflower) (Vegan)vegetable curry had almost no sauce which left the vegetables nicely fresh and firm and wasn't greasy but I would have liked a larger container with way more sauce to coat the Golden Rice which was fine. I'm so tired of restaurants with highly processed naan from a frozen mass market bag. What's the point if it's not freshly baked. We should only be paying $1 for it. Only Shalimar gets that right char and tandoor Butter Naan which is completely gummy and needs to be toasted at home a little. Nothing out of the ordinary. Meh on the whole cuisine. They need to up their game. Might give other dishes their a chance but the prices are too high."

The biryani arrived with the yogurt spilled over half the biryani....it looks like the yogurt has spoiled and tasted sour. Had to eat around the rice that was doused in yogurt.
