The Fresh Salsa (Large) is ridiculously too spicy. The Super Burrito is no longer super. It's the same size as the Bell bean burrito and its most beans and tortilla. I ordered extra sour cream & they didnt add it. The flavor is no longer flavorful. Very bland & the orange sauce is just too spicy now. The 4 Small Green Sauce (1 oz., Small) lacks flavor. "No. So, the Super Quesadilla had barely, and when I say barely I mean a scarce amount, of cheese. It was to the point where I almost couldn't find it. The carnitas in the quesadilla tasted alright but nothing better than most places. It was a TON of meat but I didn't order two tortillas, a TON of meat with a huge dollop of sour cream and a spoonful of guacamole exactly in the middle. I ordered a quesadilla...the name itself has cheese in it but this one didn't. I essentially just had to make it into two tacos. The Super Soft Taco was ok. It was so laden down with sour cream that it crumbled immediately. The pastor had a very strong vinegar flavor to it. I know vinegar is usually in the recipe but they went heavy handed on this. I asked for utensils because my kitchen is being redone and didn't get any. And they don't offer a spot to order extra salsa unless you want to pay $11+ for chips and salsa, which is usually half that price elsewhere. One would think that maybe they send out those 2 oz salsa cups but they don't. And the Buttery Caramel Filled Churros had jelly of some sort in them, not caramel. Huge dis and I feel like I wasted my money. I won't be returning."

"I have been a fan of Pollo Loco for its freshness and quantity of the end product for many years now.
For the last six months I've tried my best to stay with this eatery but I've given too many excuses and have been silent too long. I'm sure I am not alone on this opinion.
I always used to order the Three piece meal until the chicken began to shrink. I now order the Four piece meal they've renamed Four piece Half Chicken Meal to create the atmosphere you're getting a lot of chicken. We know this is a lie.
They not only mislead you to be believe it's one price when you find out you need to pay more if you want the breast (white meat). This in itself is a joke as you are supposed to get 4 pieces of chicken when you actually get two breast pieces that equal the quantity of 1 piece breast once you take it apart.
A majority of the meat is either bones or dried up chunks of chicken. The other two pieces they give are wings that looked like they belonged to a Zombie chicken because it looked dark and dehydrated. There was not one piece of edible chicken on the wings!
One last negative was the item cart each restaurant has that make the meal such as different types of salsa, onions, extra whole chiles and especially the Cilantro are no longer accessible through DoorDash. You have no options to request these extra items and there is never enough salad dressing given (which sometimes is watered down) so when ordering salads rest assured you will end up with a dry salad!
The sad thing about this is that I'm not describing a bad DoorDash day, it happens every time I go to this restaurant! Most successful eateries are still around because they remain different compared to your everyday fast food joints.
I certainly hope that Pollo Loco decides to turn around from becoming a generic fast food joint. Stop over cooking and drying up what used to be juicy, smoky natural chicken that melts in your mouth!! Bring back the greatness you proudly served before."

"My first time here. Ordered the carnitas and the carne asada (which looked like ground beef). Compared to other tacos I've had of the same type, I noticed this place still grills their tortillas for the tacos. If you would go to homemade corn tortillas without the grilling and you would end up losing most of the grease that the tacos are obviously drenched in.
The carnitas had too much fat on the meat and really ruined my appetite to bite into greasy tortillas to get a bite of pork fat when you're expecting a chunk of pork. You could actually feel your heart pumping faster each bite you take into these tacos.
Would I go back, no I'm sorry but the last thing I need is a great amount of grease in my food. I'd reconsider if you changed your style of tortillas and what parts of the meat you are going to place in the tacos you sell.
I ordered 4 tacos altogether and I received 5, either they miscounted or they added one in for the sale. I've decided it's the latter and it was a very thoughtful gesture. It didn't go unnoticed.

"The carne asada tacos were really good. Very small but you can't expect much for $3. They do use a lot of meat which compensates for the size. Bought one taco of carnitas to see how they tasted but the meat looked like it was sitting around for a long time and was very tough. Their orange chili is great and any taco is meaningless without a great salsa. It made my taco surpass the standard taco flavor. One last thing I hate to add in but they are extremely bad on the amount of onion and cilantro they put on their tacos. You would think they would cheat you on the protein since it's more expensive than onion and cilantro but this stuff makes the taco and I don't like a taco without an abundance of both! Finally the strawberry horchata, never had one before but I know what regular horchata is. I must say it was very tasty with a great flavor that tasted healthy. Although when I got to the end of the drink it started getting gritty but overall yes, I would order it again. A choice companion to accent the carne asada tacos! Try one if you don't mind a bit of grit!"
