"I have eaten here in person with no issues, but my order from DD was terrible.
I wanted to order the three taco combo, but found that unlike individual items nothing could be modified. The store also does not accept requests meaning I had to pay twice as much on individual tacos to accommodate a food allergy.
Even then one of the tacos was covered in sauce I could not eat so that was $7 down the drain.
The Pescado Taco was so salty I literally could not eat it, and the Ground Beef Taco had a weird plastic-like taste to it.
I was looking forward to the Mexican Hot Chocolate as it is one of my favorite drinks in the winter. I don't know what recipe was used here, but what I received was just dark chocolate foam that was lukewarm. For an 8oz cup the price is ridiculous.
Including my in person experience this place is just okay. Trendy? Sure. Fresh? Admittedly yes. Authentic? Absolutely not. For the cost I would rather eat at one of the other dozens of restaurants nearby."

"The food taste really good! But portions are kind of small. We got the Seco de Pollo Extra / Extra Chicken Stew, Seco de Pollo Extra / Extra Chicken Stew, and BANDEJA CUENCANA ( White rice, beef stew, guatita, chicken stew, beans, plantains and salad). This was only enough to feed two people, one meal..... the bandeja was missing some side items. Some of the pieces of chicken was literally just the chicken carcass and had no meat on there so it wasn't really edible. Probably would not order again, thankfully we had a discount this one time to order. They also don't really pay attention to food substitutions so make sure you're okay with everything you're ordering."

"Food quality is not an issue with this restaurant. I've been to tons of cafes in the Twin Cities and Alma is among the best. The Fresh Ricotta & Toast is excellent! Best sourdough in the city.
However actually ORDERING from the restaurant is hit or miss. They will never (I repeat, NEVER) confirm your order in a timely manner. It doesn't matter how busy or slow a restaurant is, this has never been an issue with any other store on DoorDash in my years of using it.
What's worse is that often your order won't get confirmed at all and you'll have to go to the restaurant itself to place an order manually. It makes ordering from this spot extremely tedious and unreliable. Staff are helpful and polite but this issue makes getting my food orders of magnitude longer and more obnoxious than it needs to be. Much of their menu also appears to be missing from their storefront.
I highly recommend Cafe Alma, but maybe just order to-go at the store itself instead of using Doordash."
