"I’ve given Sal’s a few attempts and each time has been mediocre, so I figure I would write a review this time.
I got the Bacon Cheeseburger, as well as the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Both sandwiches were *fairly* warm, but the fries were undercooked, soft and without flavor. The sandwich contents were dry and unfortunately lacked decent flavoring as well. If you’re looking for an extremely average burger, this is a good option for you.
I only live 2 miles away from this place, so usually my food retains its heat on the drive home. I don’t want to rate Sal’s only 1 star, but I think more attention to detail and some tweaking to their overall standards would go far, because these baskets were simply not worth the 30-some-dollars I paid. Solid 4/10."

"Excellent food, great to know there's a local chipper that has a variety of things on the board. The Catfish were marvelous, Jumbo Shrimp fat and sweet. For sides, i couldn't decide, so along with the fries (which are big like the chips in Australia), I got their Pizza Puff (SO delicious!) and onion rings, which were great!

Vegan Cheese Sticks: My excitement waned upon opening the box to find the vegan cheese sticks disappointingly small, measuring around 3"x6". The online description promised two marinara sauces, yet only one was provided. While I appreciate the effort to accommodate vegans, it was disheartening that marinara was the sole vegan sauce option. As someone who values variety and inclusion, I hoped for alternatives like vegan ranch or pesto. For those seeking pizza sticks or vegan pizza in general, I'd recommend Toppers in Uptown. Their exceptional offerings, including diverse sauce choices and attentive service, consistently impress.
Tots: The tots at D.P. Dough elicited a similar sentiment of disappointment. While I understand the appeal of budget-friendly options, the meager portion—merely 20 tots—was underwhelming. I thought for a moment that the tots might redeem themselves when I saw a big ramekin of what appeared to be a white sauce. However, my optimism was short-lived as I tasted what turned out to be a very plain white sauce, unsuitable for vegans or those with lactose intolerance. Trust me, do not learn this the way I did. This oversight, albeit unintentional, detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the provision of a handful of ketchup packets did little to enhance the meal. I'd recommend Tots from Iron Door- for the last 5 years they just haven't been beat for price, quantity and flavor!
Lastly, the restaurant's policy of disallowing any notes or substitutions to be made online was inconvenient. As someone who prefers the ease of online ordering, I found this restriction to be a hindrance, especially considering my dietary preferences.

"I took a guess ordering from the Tipsy Steer since it was noted as a local favorite. Best meal of my trip to MN. My order had fresh ingredients, excellent flavor combinations and quick preparation! My dad & I enjoyed a pizza with specialty bacon, basil & roasted bell peppers. The house salad had the same bacon and a flavorful creamy dressing. Highly recommend! PS. Maybe the restaurant should change the description of the whipped feta appetizer--I didn't get any vegetables in my order."
"All were tasty. I would like to see twice the quantity of Gouda cheese sauce for the Bavarian Pretzels, but that might just be a 'me' thing with my love for cheese, sauces, and dips. The Brussel Sprouts were good, and obviously fresh produce bc they were just a touch al dente for my preference. I bet this would be a great item to offer roasted. Saving the best for last, the Pimento Fried Cheese Balls . I had no idea what I was getting with these but cheese, fried, pimento... I was sure it had to be good and it was delicious. The aioli that came with it for dipping was yummy too, and really complimented the cheesy balls. Forgot to take pics bc I was hungry and knew the Pimento Fried Cheese Balls would be important to eat immediately."
