"First of all, not many independent coffee shops know how to make coffee. I am somewhat of a coffee expert and everything they do from weighing the beans out to grinding it correctly. That's just the coffee. Onto the food, I have had almost everything on the menu and it is excellently and meticulously prepared. My go to is the peanut butter bowl, which has no dairy and nothing bad in it, I don't like coconut, this has shredded coconut on it, but it is excellent the way they present. The final product is worth taking a picture. It's almost like you're eating a dessert, but there's nothing but fruit, bananas and peanut butter and other healthy things. Found this gem.... I have to say.... this is the best Jamaican food in the city, I ordered the jerk chicken and the brown stew chicken, and both were seasoned to absolute perfection. Not too much, not too little....every bite had flavor that hit exactly right.
The sides weren’t an afterthought either. The broccoli had the perfect texture.... not hard, not mushy, just right. The cabbage was full of flavor, and the rice held its own too. Everything on the plate was intentional.
And the portions.... They are NOT skimping. Im genuinely full, which doesn’t happen often. As someone who is a tough critic when it comes to food, I don’t say this lightly.... Betta Taste Jerk got it.
