"I’m disappointed with my recent Chick-fil-A order placed through DoorDash. Unfortunately, the order arrived cold, and the 30-count nuggets I paid for was incorrect.
Instead of receiving 30 nuggets, there were only 24 in the box. To make matters worse, about six of those pieces were mostly batter with very little chicken, so there wasn’t enough food for my kids and me as planned. I ended up eating only a few nuggets and then had to find something else to eat because there wasn’t enough chicken for everyone.
The nugget box was also noticeably crushed and beat up when it arrived, which only added to the poor experience.
Our family usually prefers to drive to Chick-fil-A because the food is consistently fresh and the orders are accurate. The only reason I used DoorDash this time was because of our kids’ schedule. Looking back, I really wish I had just driven there myself—I would have spent less money and likely received the correct order.

Red Pearl continues to be one of the most reliable spots in Birmingham for authentic Chinese flavors, and this visit was no exception. I ordered the salted crispy chicken with steamed rice, opting to leave off the jalapeños since I don’t do heat. The seasoning was milder than I expected “I anticipated a slightly saltier profile,” but the flavor was still enjoyable and paired well with the rice. The chicken wasn’t as crispy as usual, but the taste remained solid, especially after adding a touch of Cajun seasoning, which rounded it out perfectly.
My daughter ordered the beef rice noodles, which came out fresh and flavorful, consistent with Red Pearl’s standard. What keeps me coming back is the familiarity: the freshness, the taste, and the authenticity remind me of the Chinese food I grew up with in Los Angeles. For Birmingham, Red Pearl remains one of the closest experiences to true, traditional Chinese cooking. (only missing a star because I was expecting the chicken to be a little salty not extremely salty but at least some salt to it because that’s what was described). "First off, the crust was bland and lacked any real flavor or texture. I was hoping for a nice, crispy base that would complement the toppings, but instead, it felt flat and unremarkable. The toppings themselves were nothing to write home about either; they didn’t stand out and seemed to be of average quality. Not to mention, I do not care for wet pizza. I don't know if there was some kind of oil that they used or what? However, if you add arugula to a pizza it should be added at the very end of the baking process. They must've been lazy and just threw it on there because it was very soggy.
To make matters worse, the prices were quite high for what I received. I expected more for the cost, especially in terms of flavor and quality. Unfortunately, I left feeling like I could have enjoyed a much better pizza elsewhere for a similar or lower price."
