I grew up going to the original Handel's on South Avenue in Youngstown, OH, and have never had ice cream that tops theirs. Chocolate Pecan is their specialty back home, though that hasn't translated to every location. Luckily, this one has it. The pecans are salted just to the right amount to offset the sweet chocolate ice cream, and it's just a teensy bit melty because of the salt.
I've literally tried every flavor at some point in my life. The only one I didn't like was pistachio, and that's just because I was 6 and wasn't expecting green ice cream, haha. I'm sure it's also delicious.
You cannot miss, no matter what you choose. Go with a quart of Chocolate Pecan AND whatever you were thinking of getting (Rocky Road and Birthday Cake are also favorites at my house). You will not regret it!
