Tao Tao Cafe has been a Sunnyvale legend for decades and is just as good today as it was in the 90s. The Tao Tao beef is unlike anything I have tasted elsehwere. The chicken salad is solid and filling.
If you have never tried Tao Tao you won't be disappointed. If you have had it, it's the same as you remember.

Tao Tao has been our favorite for years, but the food was extra good tonight. The Chicken Salad is excellent. Be sure to mix in the hot mustard they give you on the side. Heaven! The Tao Tao Beef is so tender and flavorful-a must try. Our kids love the Lemon Chicken. We tried the appetizer assortment for the first time, tempura shrimp and fried wontons so yummy dipped in sweet and sour sauce. Will definitely order again.

We used to go here so often before the pandemic and this is the first time we have tried Tao Tao since then. We were so disappointed with everything. The Honey Walnut Prawns were so full of mayo it was inedible, the hot and Hot & Sour Soup had so much egg in it you could barely taste anything else. Everything in the soups looked like it had been sitting there for over a day or two. The Tao Tao Beef (serves 2-3) was burnt and so was the Mongolian Beef. The sauce for the Egg Rolls (3) was neon gelatin and not sauce consistency at all. We won't be ordering or going there again.
