"Excellent Chicken Biryani (although it was too spicy for me to finish). The spiciness is hardly the restaurant's fault, and I should have requested a milder level of heat. Nevertheless, the dish was obviouly well-prepared and flavorful with a good amount of boneless chicken for the price. I also enjoyed the Daal and Onion Naan . "The amount of food I got, for the price I paid? Almost feels like a steal! The food was delicious! Ive never had chicken biryani before and i loved it! A bit spicy, very flavorful and definitely filling! They had whole bone in pieces of chicken so careful when taking a bite. "I originally ordered Chicken Chowmein and it was automatically replaced with Chi Momo 10 Pcscken . They called to confirm if I wanted momo but I asked for biryani instead! "Wow! We've had some pretty subpar Indian on Door Dash and this is by far the best Indian food I've had in a long time! I called to ask if they could make the Aloo Gobi extra spicy and it was perfect. "The food was very good, especially the Lahori chickpeas and onion naan. I used to visit the now-closed Bismillah in San Pablo and read that this was the same group. It’s not exactly the same, though I preferred the naan and chickpeas here.
The lamb chops were overcooked and missing their rice. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce was excellent. The medium spice needed more heat. but not enough to warrant ordering spicy. The San Pablo Bismallah doesn't give a choice but it was always perfect for my taste. if I go in and order that may be something I can work out. not their fault. My biggest issue was the yogurt-like coating on the meat, which changed the texture and reduced the tandoori char. I preferred the chicken at the old Bismillah.
The shop is great, with a fresh meat counter, good products, and lovely staff. I’d return, but may order different meat dishes."

Sometimes it's reasonable, but other times there's been lots of curry sauce, but few solid ingredients; lamb biriyani has been plenty of rice, but quite skimpy on lamb (and it's tougher than it used to be--possible cheaper cut). The Chicken Momo lapping was the highlight. The momos were soft, juicy, and well stuffed with flavorful minced chicken. The “lapping” style, covered in a rich, slightly spicy sesame based sauce, added a creamy and tangy kick that made the dish stand out. The sauce was balanced not too spicy, but enough to give a nice warmth. The portion size was generous and perfect for sharing, although I could easily finish it myself because it was that good.
The Khana set felt like a complete and comforting meal. It came with rice, dal, vegetable curry, chicken curry, achar, and salad. The rice was fresh and fluffy. I immigrated from India to US 12 years ago and have tried a lot of South Asian food across the country and haven't had a biryani this juicy, this perfectly seasoned, and this delicious in a very long time. I'm so tired of restaurants with highly processed naan from a frozen mass market bag. What's the point if it's not freshly baked. We should only be paying $1 for it. Only Shalimar gets that right char and tandoor Butter Naan which is completely gummy and needs to be toasted at home a little. Nothing out of the ordinary. Meh on the whole cuisine.
