"Ever wonder what the difference between an amazing Indian restaurant and lack Leicester or average running one is? The difference is purely in the complexity of flavor, along with great execution, portion, size, and price. Let me first speak about the flavor, because this is what makes Bombay Darbar so amazing. Every time I inhale an exhale, I receive a different spice in flavor note that combines beautifully with what is already to be expected from the flavors one would typically find at an Indian restaurant of the same dish. The caliber is without compare. I have to remind myself to slow down so I do not get too full too fast! The food always arrives packed with great care. For example, all the curries are wrapped in plastic shrink wrap in order to prevent village and leakage. Even the takeout big is a step beyond with heavy insulation. Food has always arrived, piping hot, and fresh. Portion sizes are larger than what I would usually find in the consistency and execution of each dish or phenomenal. The sauce is the right texture, thickness , and well seasoned. I can't say enough about this place! The restaurant has essentially destroyed all of my expectations for Indian food, whether it be takeout, delivery or dine in. Every other place is a complete disappointment and I will only ever order from Darbar ever again! "

"My new local favorite spot for vindaloo! The buttery garlic naan is soft and is a great portion to pair with saucy dishes. The chicken vindaloo is a larger portion and offers enough to be either a very large dinner or good to split for two lunches (I add an extra side of rice to make it strech for two meals). While we enjoyed everything, the chive dumplings and som tom were prob the only two dishes that we weren't as excited about. They weren't terrible - but they weren't excellent either. The chive dumplings came oily and soggy - likely from travel. This is probably a dish best enjoyed at the restaurant. And the Som Tum while good, wasn't the best I've had. It was a bit warm - again probably from travel. But I felt some of the aromatic flavors and vibrancy was missing from the dish. I also requested medium heat on this, but it had no spice at all.
But again, neither of those dishes were "bad" - they just weren't the best out of what we ordered and likely due to delivery.
We will definitely be ordering here again :)"
