"As soon as I opened the package, I was greeted with an unexpected wonderful familiar aroma…wow…it was an initial reminder of why I ordered from here in the first place; and then as soon I began indulging in the meal, the two Ghee Pongal (really Ghee Khichari), and the Sambhar that accompanied, I was internally saying thank you to God and the person who made it and sent it. What a pleasant meal. Just what I needed. And definitely made earlier with love and care.
P.S. it catered to almost all my requests/notes (i.e. no onion/garlic, no refined oil, made in ghee, mild spice, less salt). It added to the smile (already there post meditation on the amazing Sattva app). And the medley of spices in the Sambhar were a perfect accompaniment with the requested milder Ghee Khichari/Pongal. It was calling for Idlis that I am sure to consider ordering next time.
When given enough advanced notice, Kapisa Cafe has been very responsive and accommodating of all needs. What a Gem!
Further feedback for improvement (this applies to all Indian restaurants really): It’s time we started using more compostable containers for take out; better for us and better for the planet. Will really help encourage more frequent hesitation-free ordering if this was available. Well that’s all. Really felt the need to share after the wonderful meal. Thank you!

I got the behari paratha roll, bun kabab, and the halwa puri. Everything was amazing and SUPER AUTHENTIC!
The halwa had just the right amount of sweetness and cooked to perfection. The puris were perfectly fried, the aaloo tarkaari was spiced just right, the quantity of the food is incredible too, I was not able to finish the halwa puri, enough for two meals. The only thing that could be better was the achaar, please give authentic Pakistani achaar like Shan or National.
The bun kabab was very authentic, more daal in the kabab than meat, just like back home. The bun kabab would benefit from a sweeter tomato sauce like back home. But overall one of the best bun kababs I’ve had in NJ.
The behari kabab paratha roll was innovative in how it was portioned like a quesadilla, very interesting. The behari kabab was super soft and melted in my mouth just like back home. The paratha was whole wheat and should be of maida flour like back home. The chutneys were on point though. Once again the quantity was amazing.
